My pictures made the Best Of January Kids Pictures runoff!

I was wasting time at the Houston Chronicle website blogsphere and uploaded some pictures I took of my grand children to a web gallery there, some of which I posted previously here.

Anyway, I happened to go to the newspaper's homepage last night and low and behold they have this months "My Kids Pictures, Best of January" and one of my shots is the leadoff shot. I got 4 out of 34 chosen by whomever manages the blog for people to vote on for their favorite, which is about 8% which was a definate ego boost for me. Anyway I shot #1, 10, 13 and 17. I guess I'll see if I win, they say the kid gets a prize, maybe it's a subscription to the print edition of the newspaper.

There are some nice pictures by others but good camera gear definatley helps. And flash on camera really sucks in my opinion.

I must say, I was really taken in by the "Sarah" photo, she looks so lovely. I remember seeing the boy w/ swim goggles and liking the colors in that photo.
