Moderator voting thread

Undertoad • Jan 9, 2009 12:11 pm
Phew, I forgot all about this for a few days there. Bad admin!

Please vote for no more than two people, to be Cellar moderators through the end of the year. The top two will be selected. The term of this office will be through 12/31/2009.

Nominees are listed in order of nomination.

The job is:
Moderators are added to the list of email addresses that get notified when someone reports a post. One would remove spam and forum abuse and things like this.

Moderators can do the following:
- Edit, move, delete posts
- Edit, move, copy, open/close threads
- Post announcements (make posts "sticky" at the top of the forum)
- View IP addresses
- Ban users
This is not a popularity contest but a way to figure out who should have additional power for the benefit of the community. Full disclosure: although I have the ability to see who voted for whom, I won't peek, I sincerely promise.

The vote will be open for five days, ending at approx. 5:30 pm EST Jan. 14. (Or whenever I notice time is up.) Thanks all for participating.

? My name's on that list? I hadn't realised I'd been nominated lol. Whoever that was, thankyou. But I'd like to decline the nomination all the same. :P

I just read this thread and broke out into a cold sweat. We've been operating without moderation for almost 10 days?

Anything could have happened. Anything.

OK time isn't up, but it appears Wolf and xoxoxoBruce have been re-elected.

Thanks, everybody, for participating in the process. If you did not vote, you aren't allowed to complain.

If you voted, you are still not allowed to complain. :D

wolf • Jan 14, 2009 8:40 pm
So, do I get a $150 Million budget for my inauguration?

I think you should at least ask for a bail out payment from Obama. :D
glatt • Jan 15, 2009 10:33 am
No, but maybe Bush will declare a state of emergency for you too.

FEMA protocol actually requires my governor to make the request to the federal level. I'll shoot off an email to Fast Eddie.
Happy Monkey • Jan 15, 2009 2:20 pm
That's probably the best path, as you technically don't get any inauguration funds for a reelection.
classicman • Jan 15, 2009 2:36 pm
no need to rush on that one wolf. He is busy with the football game and his contract with CSN. If the Eagles win this Sunday, he won't be available till after the Superbowl.
richlevy • Jan 17, 2009 1:20 pm
Couldn't we get Sarah Palin? She probably available.
wolf • Jan 17, 2009 2:11 pm
Nah, she's busy. She's got a full schedule. I'll have to suffice.
lumberjim • Jan 17, 2009 2:18 pm

Better stick w/ Wolf. Anyway if you HAD to have someone else, Palin is overqualified. Opt for someone with less experience.... like obama.;)

True, Palin would have too much experience. After all, she would be able to see the Internet from the Cellar.
