I thought you meant the lines on the road. They don't paint those (around here) anymore. They lay down a decal and bake it in with heat torches.

We used to use the wet paint out of the line and make our names on the newly paved and painted roads...then we walked on them barefoot until it burned our summer feet on then we could walk on anything.

I can still walk on virtually anything due to the calluses I developed on my feet as a kid/teen.

(Yes, even water.)

And then they throw down reflective glass beads onto the hot decal so they get embedded. Looks kind of like white sand.
