The Meter, the millimeter, and the inch went to get a tree today and brought it back while I languished with my infirmity.

After we got the first set of lights up The Meter noticed this, deep inside near the trunk:

You're thinking of Easter.

No, that's when Jesus came out of the cave and if he saw his shadow there'd be six more aeons in purgatory.

Times are tough, there's a recession going on. Obviously the birds found the nest wasn't worth what they owed on the mortgage, so they flew away. Probably looking for a fresh start in the south.;)

Foot3: "Ain't nature grand?",sighed while taking in the beauty of trees before him.

Family: "It sure is dad!", agreed the kidlets.

Foot3: "Now who's going to help me cut this bitch down and drag it in the house?"

I think it's a wonderful find, and I hope you let one of the kids keep it.

In years to come they will say to eachother, "Remember that year when we got the tree home and there was a nest in it?!" and their new GFs will feel really left out of the bonding conversation. Not in a mean way of course.

Thanks for sharing.
