Albanian artist Saimir Strati created the largest mosaic made of corks in Tirana, Albania.
Strati glued 229,764 corks of various shapes and colors over a plastic banner to make
“Romeo with a crown of grapes playing the guitar while dancing with the sea and the sun.”
He worked 14 hours a day for 28 days and completed his project
I would guess the corks were precut and precolored before he started. I wonder how long that took?
My cousins husband makes cork boards out of wine bottle corks.
They aren't as good as that one though that's for sure.
Impressive.
*resists almost overwhelming urge to post clone-thread*
well, ya gotta do something with all the hours in the day.
Kind of makes me want to thumbtack a note to it. :-)
I wonder how long that took?
I'd say right around 14 hrs a day for 28 days...:3_eyes:
I was referring to the pre-cutting and pre-coloring, smartass. :p
I just noticed the first guy on the left. I think he's about to "critique" it.
