What IS a "THUG-ocracy" ???

Would that be a thing that thrusts the nation into messy, illogical, resource-hogging conflicts, that it supplements with third party independant contractors (who answer to no system of law); and simultaneously deploys unlimited secret spying powers against it's own populace--all in the name of a broadly-defined war which it will be literally impossible to ever, ever declare and "end" to?

Man, I'd hate to have one of those.

What would be even worse is if they squashed and distorted scientific research in the name of ignorant, outmoded religious dogma.
