Pictures of your offspring

I know we had a thread like this somewhere around here, but I can't find. I'm starting this thread because I took what I think is a really cool pic of my son Maverick at the beach yesterday. Here it is.

And here's my other son Aden. He obviously wants you all to think he's a little bit retarded. (he pulled that face on purpose about 5 mins ago after asking how come I don't have a pic of him on this thread also) Jealousy is a curse I guess.

I posted in the Makeup thread about my daughter's purple hair. So here she is:

Image
Sundae • Oct 25, 2008 9:45 am
Great action shot Lookout. And sleepy shot of course.

And very cool hair Juniper. Our office cleaner let her son dye his hair blue during the summer holidays. He didn't have to worry about permanent staining as he's black, but it did mean he thought my hair was super-cool when it was blue. I'm all for children being allowed to experiment with colour, in fact it stops it being a rebellion thing. Time and a place and all that of course.

Have you tried hair mascara by the way? It doesn't penetrate the hair, and washes out, so it can even be done for a weekend or a party.
HungLikeJesus • Oct 25, 2008 10:05 am

Like Griff said. That and I've hammered the following message into his school over and over again: you're smaller than the people you play against, if you go to ground you lose. Don't let them catch you.

To be fully accurate though I'd have to point out that he has different shoes for different fields and he is obsessive so he personally cleans all of his gear after each game.

"Maths" actually makes more sense than "math" because "mathematics" is plural and so is "maths." But it sounds funny.

Mathematics is plural because it is the collection of all the various math disciplines, not a plural of plurals. Them furriners just talks funny.

Ali, I meant to ask you whether it was a Boori cot on another thread.
But in the UK, Boori assemble the cot and take the packaging away, so I guess not.
Still, if the box is good enough to sleep in... whydya waste ya money on a COT?! Favouritism :headshake

I'd love an update on the shiner too please!

Radar, you have a beautiful wife and an absolutely gorgeous daughter.
And I am so pleased you are raising her to be bi-lingual.

Years ago I got a cab to the airport in New York, and the taxi driver said proudly that he was French and his wife Polish (or the other way round) but his children grew up to speak only American. I thought that was sad. I'm not big on roots (we're all mongrel over here) but I know how hard it is to learn a foreign language, and how wonderful it is to have one without effort. I envied my schoolfriends from Italian families enormously.

It made me laugh when I saw your comment about a Boori cot. Over here, Boori is a derogatory word for an aboriginal person. Oh the cultural divide is so great even though we try to pretend it's not. lol

Aden helped me put it together. It was pretty simple actually. Only took about 10 minutes, so I was happy. 10 mins is about as long as I can spend bending over these days. lol

I really don't know why Mav wanted to sleep in it, but it's not the first time. He still loves playing in boxes when he gets the chance. He's still a kid and I'm very glad. Aden is growing up way too fast imo. I wish he'd slow down, but I don't think it's reversable.

The shiner is mostly gone now. I meant to take a pic of it the other day when it was at its most colourful, but it's pretty much back to normal now. He's been telling everyone he got a backhander for being a smart mouth to me. lol Little bugger!

Yeah, I think I'd find it annoying having the year split in two, but really your big break for the kids revolves around summer just as ours does, which I think is great for the kids.

Exactly, very impressive. I put personally sushi into two categories: stuff made out of seafood that I'd never eat, and .. umm, OK, one category.

I enjoy pictures of Flint because he would never, ever post them if it was up to him. Thanks, Pooka.

And there's no reason not to post that pic, it's beautiful, he's showing what he loves to a next generation of players. It is the epitome of parenting, to show what you love to them, and how much you love it. Not so they learn what you love, but that they learn to love - they learn to appreciate that joy for their whole lives.

It's hard to realize my oldest just celebrated her 50th birthday.
So now, are grand-kids considered offspring ? I think so.

Here is Abby's 3rd grade school pic, still in that princess and fashion model phase,
favorite of the boys in class, a whiz at reading, and all around great kid.
.
BigV • Oct 28, 2011 4:14 pm
Clodfobble, that is a great shot of a couple of adorable kids. "Match outfits"! That's great! They sure look happy. Keep takin pictures--electrons are plentiful, but your time with them at any given stage is scarce and finite.

Two nights ago BD came by to scare up a Halloween costume. As we (and by we, I mean me) were assembling it, she asked what I'd been up to. I told her I'd recently digitized some old videotapes. I told her about a particularly cute one from 1992. She lit up and I played part of it for her. She was so tickled to see herself twenty years ago she actually had me stop the playback a number of times so she could snap a (digital, what else?) picture of the screen to share with her iPhone crew.

Keep up the happy work, they look great!
BigV • Oct 28, 2011 4:15 pm
Lamplighter,

But Mum used to call me CherryBonBon and my other housemate, who'd known me since grammar school called me Cherry-Berry so really I didn't have a leg to stand on.
I still miss being called Berrily by a friend I lost (Cherrily Berrily, Cherrily Berrily, Gently down the stream).

SonofV was warming a cheesy garlic breadstick in the microwave the other day. He did a marvelous job of it too, since when he opened the door to the microwave and picked it up, it was too hot to handle. He bobbled it and caught it, burned his fingers again and bobbled it again, repeat, repeat. This was happening right at the open door to the microwave but he was losing the battle as his bats and bumps bounced the bread off the doors of the cabinet, getting lower and lower and lower. He kept with it, I'll give him that, until he was bent over double, hands almost to the floor then, plop. The bread fell on the floor. By this time he'd chased the bread down and to the left as you face the open microwave door. With the bread on the floor, there was no more need to be bent over like that, so he stood up.

...

Right under the corner of the open door of the microwave. Ouch. He kept walking forward as the corner of the door, open to the maximum, ploughed a furrow in his back. It was loud, too. Fortunately, blood was only summoned to the surface and not actually drawn. He knew it hurt, but he had no idea what it looked like, so, now we all do.

Oh, the bread? We abide by the five second rule in this house. I leaned over picked it up, and he ate it.

Ahh, the rule about standing up carefully in a kitchen with high-mounted cupboards (and microwaves) is an important lesson in life. Most people learn it with damage to their head, though.

Thanks :D. They're 7 and 17. The 7 yr old (first pic) was smirking at me because I gave her a hard time about her bangs hanging in her face, so I put a frilly "baby" bow in her bangs and took a picture.

My son and I went over to Arlington National Cemetery this morning to help lay wreaths at the graves. I was happy to see the thousands of volunteers who turned out to help.

You're supposed to take your time and read each stone as you are placing the wreath. Take a moment to straighten the bow and make it look nice. We only placed about ten each because there were so many people there to help, but it was a good experience.

Each year they expand the program, but still haven't raised enough funds to place a wreath on each grave. I'd guess we ran out of wreaths when half the cemetery was covered. Those sections looked nice when we were done though.

Thank you, though.

There's actually enough coin in this country to do both, it's just that bailouts and corporate welfare don't come cheap, so someone has to pay.
glatt • Dec 16, 2012 9:01 am
I can't disagree with you, Zen. There is a lot of need out there. An individual volunteer, or even charitable organization, can't do it all. In fact, I think if you look at all the need out there and try to detrmine the best place to help out, you can become overwhelmed and not help at all. But when little opportunities like this come up, it's worthwhile to join in. Like Clodfobble's decorated highway, this will lift the spirits of the people who see it, and it gets my kid in the habit of helping out. And it's a small enough job that you can see what you accomplished. It's also the kind of thing a kid can do.
footfootfoot • Dec 16, 2012 1:45 pm
I don't think you need to defend what you did, Glatt. As I said, we have the resources in this country to do both, that was what you could do and made sense for you to do. It's important to honor the dead AND take care of the living.
Clodfobble • Dec 22, 2012 5:33 pm
They were taking photos at Minifobette's therapy clinic for a little Christmas ornament craft. To get a natural smile on each kid, they were being silly and making faces. Except Minifobette is keenly aware that therapy is serious business and she is 100% compliant. So she promptly did what she thought she was being told to do.

[grossly ignorant] Isn't Beans a little young for solids yet? [/GI]
Chocolatl • Jan 8, 2013 8:05 pm
Zen -- I thought so, too, but turns out babies are okay to start thin solids between 4 and 6 months. (I'd always heard 6 as the start.) Beans is 4.5 months old, now, and at her check up today the pediatrician told us to get started. A few teaspoons once a day to help her body get used to digesting something other than milk. It's also cereal formulated for babies -- like instant mashed potatoes, very smooth.

V -- We'll try rice tomorrow -- hopefully that'll go over a little better. She's 1/4 Asian and 1/4 Hispanic, so she should be genetically predisposed to like rice... :)
Aliantha • Jan 9, 2013 5:50 am
I have been trying eva on a few solids over the last couple of weeks. So far no interest at all. Maybe next week. Yes, she is only just hitting 4 months, so no big deal. Just giving her an option. One day she will change her mind. Till then she's happy with her bottle. :)

Choco, did beans cut a tooth yet? I dont think eva is too far off it. Shes been chewing everything in sight. lol
Chocolatl • Jan 9, 2013 6:44 am
Plenty of drooling and biting, but no teeth just yet. At least the initial frenzy has died down!

I'll post a pic of the whole lot of them soon Choco. Good luck with the teething then. lol

V, I used a sling often with Max. He loved it. Eva isn't so impressed, but maybe she'll get used to it. It's pretty hot weather here since she was born, so maybe she just gets hot. Not sure. I used it with Max till he was almost 2.

You know, after I posted that he had crippling OCD so I kicked him out I realized that sounded rather cruel if you didn't know the machinations I went thru to get that boy help. Three different docs told him he had OCD and here's the med for it---he refused the med and disparaged all three docs with , "They think I'm crazy!!!" I was there in the room with them. Nobody said 'crazy' at all. He refused to go to a therapist I offered to pay for----and a good one, at that, which is no easy feat to find. Refused. When he came at me, all 6' 6" of him, I told him to get out or I'd call the police. He was pissed and that was all last Jan. He's seeing a therapist on his own now but I am forbidden to talk / ask about it, which is fine. Once he didn't have a punching bag to blame all his mojo on he had to deal with it. That's how all that came about.
Clodfobble • Jan 18, 2013 1:15 pm

footfootfoot • Jan 18, 2013 7:30 pm
he just keeps pulling it out over and over
Trilby • Jan 19, 2013 8:56 am
Actually the OCD helps with the training---doing the same trick over and over and over until it's perfect. It's the "magic" rituals that finally got to me. If he enters a certain room he has to do a ritual with his feet or hands (something he thinks other people don't notice but I notice) and he's weird about food (as you can see he's a bit on the thin side) all he has to do is take one little pill a day and these compulsions would go away but he won't do it. He thinks he should be able to OUT THINK his own brain wiring. Like a depressed person willing themself out of depression. All I know is that willing yourself out of chemical nuttiness doesn't work BUT he is better.
footfootfoot • Jan 19, 2013 2:01 pm
I once willed myself out of a broken ankle. It took me 8 weeks in a cast, but I was finally successful!

Someday she's going to start marveling in the grocery store at the cross-racial resemblance of what turns out to be an adopted child, I'm just waiting with bated breath.

I noticed older Asians do the same. My mom said we should say the baby looks like the dad so his side of the family would love the baby. It's usually the mother's side of the family who loves and care for the baby more. I don't know about this society, but for Vietnamese, the woman goes home to her mother to give birth and to be taken cared for.

Cute levels set to STUN: Beans spontaneously figured out that she could use her own shirt to play peekaboo. She's never done the peeking before, so that she so quickly figured out how to make this into a game just blew me away. (Apologies for the dark video -- rainy day here in Tampa!)

It's soccer season and my wife and I went to the games last Saturday for her son who has 5 kids all playing this year, even their 4 1/2 year old. The second game day of the season is Grandparent's Day and they handed out neat little metal lapel/hat pins for the old folks so we each collected 5 by the end of the day. Here are 2 shots, one of us with the kiddos and one of the youngest hamming it up for her fan section.

This is a shot of my daughter, Bridget who lives and works in Seattle. She had a photographer friend that her company uses for PR work take some glamor shots of her. Funny how you feel when your babies grow up and become adults. She looks mostly like her mother and definitely got the Irish side of the genes.

Choco, try giving her her own spoon to hold while you feed her. That's what I do with Eva (and all previous progeny) when they go through this stage. ;)
Chocolatl • May 5, 2013 12:28 am
Good idea, Ali. Thankfully this was a one time occurrence -- so far. She's usually a happy camper at mealtimes, but on this particular morning she had woken up in a bad mood and wasn't happy with anything. I took the video after about 10 minutes of "I'm HUNGRY! GET THAT SPOON OUT OF MY FACE!" :)
Aliantha • May 5, 2013 12:39 am
When they're getting more self sufficient, they can be a bit resentful of you feeding them. Eva is actually doing the same thing quite often, so she has her spoon, and when she is about to put the spoon in her mouth, I quickly put a loaded one in. It's just one of those little tricks I learned from someone once who seemed to have more knowledge than me. It's important to share the little tricks of the trade. ;)

Choco, that's interesting about the umbilical cord. Over here it's recommended to wash the baby thoroughly (umbilical cord stump and all) from about the 2nd or 3rd day. Max's cord took a fair while to come off. Eva's was off within a couple of days. Not sure why it was so quick, but I'm thinking maybe because she was full term and it was time? Who knows. In any case, I was happy. Those things are ugly! lol
footfootfoot • May 30, 2013 7:34 pm

Chocolatl • May 30, 2013 8:05 pm
I was 7 when my brother was born. I helped to care for him every day. A few days after his stump fell off, I asked my mom when the "other extra piece" would fall off.
"What extra piece?" she asked.
"The wrinkled baggie behind his peepee!"

Your brother's hair is surprising (I mean the texture, of course the color is by choice.) What heritage produced that, if you don't mind my asking?
Chocolatl • Jun 13, 2013 7:41 pm
Ha! Here's one of Beans with Kitsune.

Our heritage is half Cuban, half Filipino. My dad is Cuban, but he is very fair, with fine blond hair and blue eyes. My brother and I both take after my mom, with her coarse, black hair and brown eyes.

My brother's hair is coarser than mine and holds a curl pretty well.

glatt • Jun 14, 2013 8:37 am
I had a friend in high school with hair like your brother's. One day at school, he got the idea to hide a pencil in his hair. He would be talking to someone, and snap his head forward, and the pencil would come shooting out right into their chest. It was pretty funny. I loved that physics class. That teacher let us goof around a lot after the lab work was done.
BigV • Jun 21, 2013 12:45 pm

Sundae • Jun 21, 2013 4:14 pm
Choco, I have to admit I was wondering about your racial heritage but was worried it was crass to ask. We don't have quite the same melting pot as the US and so (some of us Brits) still worry.
But it is something that fascinates me. I find the same beauty in combined accents. Like Bjork's East London accent.

The photo of the three generations of females in your family is absolutely gorgeous.
Chocolatl • Jul 4, 2013 12:09 pm
Thanks, all!

Sundae -- I always find it amusing when people ask me "where I'm from." I generally have to ask if they want the short answer or the long answer (which includes family heritage and the five cities I've lived in). I've never met anyone who was offended by being asked about their heritage, but it can be aggravating when people either assume or try to correct me. (Yes, I'm SURE I'm not from Peru. I think I'd know.)

This was his second Century ride and he warmed up the first 66 miles, then tackled the hills in the last 35. I can't even imagine riding 100 miles ...

Most American schools have no regular school uniform, so they can hit you up harder for a more expensive extracurricular uniform. In our orchestra, girls had to have a black dress sewn from a specific pattern. If your parents wanted, they could attempt it themselves, but pretty much everyone paid the one parent who was a professional seamstress to make theirs. It was like $60 or $70 bucks, but at the same time, she did alterations for free over the next four years as your boobs and hips came in and that freshman dress no longer fit.

The boys had to wear a tux, leased from a retailer the school had an arrangement with (part of the profits went back to the orchestra to pay for trips and whatnot.)

This past week Mr. Bones came to visit. I took him for a drive around the neighborhood and then over to my grandkids house last night for Halloween. He is a great guest, he doesn't eat much or talk a lot.
Clodfobble • Nov 1, 2013 1:14 pm
Neat, Chris. Where did you get your Mr. Bones?
chrisinhouston • Nov 1, 2013 3:26 pm
CVS drug store had all their Halloween stuff on clearance so they can get the store all decked out for frigging Christmas. I couldn't resist it at $25 instead of $50 for regular price. And I have to admit it seems pretty well made.

I'm sorry Sarge, I asked a genuine question (privately) but I will apologise publicly because I have offended you.
Big Sarge • Sep 2, 2014 3:25 pm
You were not the only person to contact me. I feel the comments were highly offensive about Hope. The Cellar simply isn't worth it anymore. To answer the big question, I am a surrogate grandfather to her. Her mother is Addie's step sister. She is part of my life through Addie. Her mother was a classmate of Elizabeth's. Once again, there is no blood relation and no romantic involvement.
Aliantha • Sep 2, 2014 5:33 pm
Sarge, honestly, when you make a comment about her being one of your two youngest, most people are going to think you mean she's your daughter. That's the implication. Even if she was downs, why would you be offended? I assume that's the question that was asked because i wondered the same thing. Aside from that, i thought both girls look lovely, regardless of who their parents are or their genetic make up.

Mrs. glatt and our daughter are off at a church retreat this weekend, but I didn't feel like going, so my son and I stayed home. Nice bonding time. Got pizza last night and decided to go for a hike this morning.

The boy has no fear, but an appropriate amount of caution.

Cool. You guys have a fair amount of hiking around DC?
glatt • Sep 13, 2014 2:35 pm
We actually do. There's a huge demand for it, and since there is no industry in DC, the river is undeveloped parkland for miles in each direction.
Clodfobble • Sep 13, 2014 3:42 pm
Nice looking log. It's exactly the kind that I wouldn't want the kids to go across, but would know in my heart that their dad was right to let them try it. (Unlike other risks, where I would feel quite certain that it was a bad idea no matter what.)
glatt • Sep 13, 2014 5:12 pm
I didn't go over the log. I took the foot bridge that was 20 feet away.

A few years ago, the bridge was out, and the log was the official way across, and I did it then. Successfully, I might add, but I kept thinking how if I fell just the wrong way, I'd break something and be a couple miles from the nearest road.
chrisinhouston • Sep 17, 2014 11:00 pm
Took my 2 weekend charges to the park for awhile and was playing around with my new Canon EOS M mirrorless and a new lens, the Canon 40mm pancake lens. Not the best choice for impromptu portraits but it worked out ok.

Later I played with the images in some different editing programs, LR and PS and also one for portrait work; B&W seemed the best way to go with those bright colors. Here is what I got. Keep in mind Emily is 5 and Sarah is 7... Maybe I made them look a bit too much like pre teens with the sultry looks! Oh and I had to clone one of Sarah's front teeth over the one that fell out last week! ;)

I had some questions for my gran daughter. Whom I hadn't seen for around 2 years. This was her reply.
"The James Madison is a homeschool program. I started in the 10th grade. I had friends from school doing it, so I decided to so I could graduate early. The Miss Hattiesburg was for people all over MS. It was a prelim pageant for the Miss Magnolia State Pageant.
The trip overseas was a scholarship program. 50 high school students all over the United States went. We flew from New Jersey to Barcelona, Spain, went all over France, and then to Italy! We also went to Monaco and Vatican City! Vatican City was beautiful and amazing! We went all through the Vatican and Sistine Chapel."
She's also on dean's list for fall term at jr. collage, and won the Miss H-burg contest. Not that I had anything to do with it.

She requested me not to volunteer of I'd be it in a flash..... :(

Bummer, monster, can't you beg, threaten, or bribe her?
monster • Jan 17, 2015 6:59 pm
Nah, this is her big senior year freedom trip. I get it. As a stay-at-home parent I've chaperoned pretty much every trip there is, especially overnight ones, because there are so few people who have the time. I'm really not a helicopter parent/party-pooper, but just knowing your mom is there and other kids knowing that's your mom can put a downer on it, no matter how cool she is ;)

I'll only volunteer if the trip won't happen otherwise.

xoxoxoBruce • Jan 23, 2015 12:12 am
Dysautonomia is an umbrella term used to describe several different medical conditions that cause a malfunction of the Autonomic Nervous System. The Autonomic Nervous System controls the "automatic" functions of the body that we do not consciously think about, such as heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, dilation and constriction of the pupils of the eye, kidney function, and temperature control.
Doesn't sound like fun but her case may be manageable.

Last week my son who lives up in Alaska came south for a visit. It was the first time we got to see our newest grandchild (#15). Augustus was a big baby at birth and at 5 months weighs just over 20 lbs putting him in the 97% range at his last pediatric check up. Good kid, he hardly ever fusses and other then waking up for a feeding or 2 from his mom sleeps through the night.

I shot this on our coffee table in our family room which I converted into a mock studio.

Sorry, just came back here and saw your question. No, this camera is geared towards pros so there isn't a setting for sports like on consumer level ones. When I shoot sports shots like this I choose the Tv setting (Time value or shutter speed priority). I prefer the shutter speed to be 1/2000 or a bit faster. I choose Auto for the aperture and let camera choose the f/stop which will typically be fairly wide open. The camera will try to choose a fairly wide aperature coupled with the lowest ISO or sensitivity as possible.

I was playing around in Lightroom last night and noticed that I have over 42,334 images with no keywords. Most of these are older images imported into my catalog from a time before I knew the importance of keywording. With Keywording you can search for a person by name or a group of people or places you have visited and depending on what you entered with a keyword that is added to the metadata you can easily find it later. That's a good thing when you have over 76 thousand pictures like I do.

So I was just skipping through these non keyworded images and found one I liked and had never done anything with. A picture of my granddaughter, Kirstyn taken at Easter, 2008. I think the kids were coloring Easter eggs. So I played with it for a few minutes and got a shot that I may end up making a print to hang on the wall with all the other grand kid pictures. For your amusement I post the original and the retouched, I cleaned color, recropped, sharpened and decreased noise and took out the spot on her shirt.

It's a keeper!

So are your kids done with the charter school they were at, or is the charter school big enough to have a football team?
monster • Sep 13, 2015 9:53 am
They were not at a charter school, it was an alternative program public school K-8. Now they are at high school and yes, three football teams -freshman, JV and Varsity, it's one of the three regular public high school in Ann Arbor (although not the one we are zoned for)

Ann Arbor has 3 full-size regular, and 3 smaller alternative program high schools (all public) and maybe 4 charter high schools and 3 private. If we were at one of the alternate public high schools, the charter schools or the private schools, the kids would then be able to be on the sports teams/bands of their zoned school if their school did not offer that program and they could get themselves to practice. So he's be in a green nutcracker uniform instead of Colombia Blue :D

Of course one is no longer there, she has flown the nest and is at University of Michigan. Bizarrely, much closer than her high school (which was 6 miles away), although she is living in dorms. :D

That's how she was able to visit and represent the graduated players to receive the State Champion accolade

just the what do we have here question--a feather --ha-- in her cap. just riffing.

you deserve feathers in your caps as well.

Did a portrait session with 3 of my granddaughters who live nearby. My garage/workshop is a bit jumbled up right now so I moved the furniture in our family room and set up a background and some lights inside.

I'm trying out my newest camera, the Canon 5Ds which boasts a 50 mp sensor. Very high resolution but also large files to work with. Ideally I will use this camera for portraits and landscapes where I want incredible detail and it helps if you pair it with really good lenses. So far I am very happy with the camera.

Emily (in red) is 8 and in second grade. She has really crooked teeth that will need to have braces some day so she didn't want any big toothy smiles. Sarah is 10 and Kirstyn is 14.
chrisinhouston • Jan 18, 2017 1:20 pm
It's hard to really see with these smaller images that will post here but the detail is incredible. These could easily be poster size and still be super sharp.
chrisinhouston • Jan 18, 2017 1:25 pm
Last batch...

Kirstyn is at typical teenage girl stage of life. Spent hours getting ready, showered washed her hair, did her makeup and carefully picked her outfits but hated the pictures when I showed her. Not my work but the way she looks.
chrisinhouston • Jan 18, 2017 1:29 pm
Oh, one last shot. For many years whenever I shoot kids I always let them make funny faces every now and then if they have been giving me some good poses. Sometimes the funny ones are the best. Emily has been able to cross her eyes in different directions since she was little. She just had to do it for me one more time.
xoxoxoBruce • Jan 18, 2017 1:32 pm
What a great record for them to treasure later on, something that won't embarrass them like bare on a bearskin. :haha:

My daughter today, trying to catch as many water striders as she can in a local park, and count the ones she carefully marked with white-out last week. She's doing her senior year of college remotely and this is a water quality lab course she's doing online, from home. I'm impressed with how well her professors are teaching her remotely. She caught and marked about ten last week, and was able to catch eight this time, three of which were marked.

And my son, who is in New Mexico, working on a Boy Scout ranch during his gap year before starting college. This was over the past weekend, when he had a day free. He loves to rock climb.

I never think about how unusual it is to see outdoorsiness in kids these days, until it's right in front of me. Good job, glatt & Mrs. glatt!

thanks guys. I'm a little envious of them.

I mean, I had my youth, and got to do stuff then, but they seem to be doing it in ways I never did. The world is their oyster and I see hope for the future in them. Hope this world doesn't crush them.

and here I am in covid lockdown working from home. As least I bought a nice new desk chair.
