No, fishies not edible, but take-homeable!

Yes, we made it. beest baked the cake, i made the jello along the engineering principles we developed after a cool-but-not-so-spectacular prototype on Weds.

That is indeed awesome.

Monster, your skills at doing creative and clever things like this and making costumes are really amazing.
Although, I bet the other mums are all jealous now.

Pico and ME • Oct 20, 2008 9:34 am
Thats awesome! How did you keep the fishes upright?
monster • Oct 20, 2008 10:09 am
Should I give away trade secrets? hehe

We did the jello in layers, in each layer I cut slits and partially inserted the fish upside down before pouring the next layer.

Thanks for all your lovely comments, as you can tell, we're pretty proud of this one :D

I've been wondering if you put any edible features in the jelly. I think that snakes (do you have that kind of lolly there?) would work, and there are probably more nautical shape edibles.

And for a diving/swimming theme jelly diorama you could use two layers of different coloured jelly, a pale yellow one for air and a blue one for water, and have a diver/swimmer going from one to the other.
