OK, since the cellar is a hot bed of knee jerk liberals who are barely kept in check by Lookout and The Merc and a few others, I think the following link may not be out of place here nor unwelcome. By most.

A few friends of mine have made the following website and project which involves you uploading a short video where you give one reason why you support Obama. The details are at this site:

Sharp viewers will be able to detect the various feet, inches, and millimeters. Giving or asking for one reason. (My reason ended up on the cutting room room floor, I guess they felt "Because the current administration has plundered all the money in our treasury and there isn't any money left for the next republican administration to plunder, so we need a democrat in there to rebuild the coffers.")

Sigh, sarcasm just isn't appreciated these days.

Anyway, despite the format's disturbing similarity to the "Don't Vote" campaign, Obama supporters with a few minutes on their hands may want to give the site a look.

I don't have the ability to upload a video but the reason I'm voting for Obama is because he is actually running a campaign based mostly on HOW he will try to fix what's wrong with the economy and with DC. McCain and Palin just keep going on and on about how Obama associates with terrorists. They are like dogs with a favorite chew toy. Obama has run his campaign well. It's not an organization with multiple heads running off in different directions. He's not constantly clarifying what some stupid branch of his campaign has done in order to limit damage. It's a tightly run ship. If he can run his campaign this well, he will be running the Administration well.

You can't say the same for the McCain campaign. It's all over the place.

A large number if not most in the mainstream Republican Party also did not. McCain voters were mostly Republican moderates and independents. That is a serious McCain's problem - schizophrenia in his campaign. McCain is a moderate. His party is dominated by extremists which is why Palin had to be forced on his ticket. McCain had near zero support from Republican extremists.

It is a real shame what Republican power brokers have done to McCain who previously represented the interests of moderate and independent Americans - not who those party power brokers represent.

McCain's list of possible VP candidates (which was under review long before the choice was made) included Romney, Lieberman, and another major name I currently cannot remember. McCain's choices were completely changed when Republican Party mainstream power brokers began taking seats in his campaign. They needed one of their own and only had a week to find one. It explains why Palin was so poorly vetted.

I've always thought that Fox was slanted, but still a decent source for news. I'm about to put them in with Newsmax and the Washington Times though, given their coverage as of late.

I do agree with most of your points. I feel it important to hear what the extreme is saying on both sides but I usually end up discounting what I hear. On that much we agree.

Here's an interesting one.

If Obama gets elected and Palin does try for president in 2012, the Republicans are going to be faced with an interesting choice. Nominate Palin and appeal to %100 of the base or nominate someone who can actually get elected.

I don't think Biden will go for the job in 2016. If Palin decides to run then and Hillary decides to run (at age 69), then we would have one great debate.
