They didn't have mine, so I looked it up myself.

The Sloth

Sloth is not a nickname most people would be happy about. Slow moving and unenergetic are its main traits. It spends it life just “hanging out”. The algae growing on its fur gives it a green color that acts like camouflage. So what might seem like a giant clump of leaves hanging from a branch in the rainforest canopy may really turn out to be a sloth.

I was an owl, but I can't bring myself to post it.

I suppose it makes as much sense as any other divination method. The sad thing if this is aimed at people who really believe it.

Actuallym it was more that it lead me to check out my online tarot card reading. Which had so many mis-spellings I finally woke up to what I was doing.

Thank goodness for that, or I'd probably be on the line to a psychic at £10 a minute by now

Cougar

Cougar has long been associated with leadership. Cougars are powerful, agile, and unhesitating. When Cougar attacks, he throws one hundred percent of himself into the pursuit. Although cougar is strong, he is also elusive —hard to spot in the wild—until he decides to pounce. His lesson to you today is one of being a balanced leader—not rushing into the attack, not always lurking in the brush.

Ha, funny considering I went deer hunting today (sorry to anyone who may pull a deer, nothing personal)

Buffalo

Buffalo has come snorting into your life today to bring a message of great hope. Buffalo sacrificed every part of his physical body to support those who hunted him—but he also gave his spirit. And, it's that spirit of hope, abundance, and a bright future that he brings to you today. If you are experiencing a troubled journey, help is here.

SG, I would have a hard time getting many here to believe that the Buffalo, given the description is quite fitting on many levels. I mean if you believe that animals have spirits, and I do.

Antelope medicine is one of right action. If you were to visit Northern Plains today, you would see groups of antelope scattered about the fields and hills. I swear this is getting creepy how right on some of these draws have been. The other day I drew a card (can't remember exactly which animal it was, I think it was moose) that told me not to pretend I didn't know how something was going to go. Of course I didn't what it was talking about until the next day. And then I drew deer, which told me how to deal with said problem, which I had not been doing. Once I did, it made everything so much easier.

Deer

If you can imagine Bambi, you can imagine the message Deer brings to you today—a message of sweetness, innocence, and gentle spirit. Be delicate today in your communication with other and with yourself. This is definitely not a time for being critical, mean-spirited, or sarcastic. Just as Deer's heart can be easily wounded, so can the heart of your friends, co-workers, or family members.

Frog

Frog Rivet! Something in your life needs cleansing, and frog is here to help. Frog is traditionally associated with rain—that powerful force of Nature that can flood, nurture, heal, or drown. If Frog appears in your reading, you're being asked to examine what is stagnating in your life—then ask Frog to help you let it go. Need to cry? Jump in the shower and let Frog Medicine do its work.

Oh, I haven't done this in a while. I was kind of hoping for a frog because I'm feeling pretty froggy today ;), but this is even better for me; a friend said something very similar to me recently:

Are you dreaming a dream that's big enough? If Lizard has appeared before you today, the gauntlet has been thrown down, the challenge made. Stop hiding your light beneath a rock—be willing to be bigger than life, to dream bigger than your imagination, to throw caution to the wind, and aim for the target you've spent a lifetime avoiding.
sugarpop • Apr 10, 2009 6:16 pm
Oh Shawnee, that reminds me of this speech that I just LOVE LOVE LOVE...

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so
that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other
people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others."

I love that. I've read it so many times, and as I read your post it all came flooding back. Thanks for that, sugarpop. :)
sugarpop • Apr 10, 2009 6:28 pm
I don't know for sure. A friend of mine wrote it out in calligraphy with some Chinese paint technique of bamboo, and he credits it to Nelson Mandela (I have it framed and hang it on the wall as well), but when I looked it up on the internet, credit was given to Marianne Williamson (of A Course in Miracles).
Shawnee123 • Apr 10, 2009 6:33 pm
Hmmm, I think I had read that too and of course one of them was wrong. Google time...

Yeah, now I remember. Depending on the source, Mandela never said a word of it or Williamson had nothing to do with it. I guess I would believe sources which refer to the passage in Return to Love by Williamson, but why is Mandela so often credited?

Yabbut, classic, old buddy: are you reading into the reading? ;)

Oh, and, in my head, you sounded like that guy on Price is Right: "A new CAHHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRRRRRR"

hey a good hit!

The Crane

Cranes have been revered for centuries in many Oriental cultures, symbolizing good fortune and long life. If Crane has flown into your reading today, he brings a message of good tidings. Be prepared for something special today—emotional balance, good health, a spiritual “ah-ha!”, or simply pure joy.

Armadillo

You'll never get too close to Armadillo as his hard shell will keep you at arm's length! And, if this roly-poly fellow is in your reading, he's asking YOU to examine the areas where you need a hard shell—boundaries! Do you “do” for everyone but never “do” for yourself? Or, are you being TOO sensitive, protecting yourself even when danger isn't present?

Fox

Fox medicine represents the ability to blend in. She can change colors to blend with the seasons—becoming almost invisible against a backdrop of snow or foliage. Fox also has an amazing sense of smell that enables her to sniff out dangerous situations. Be like a Fox—street smart and safety savvy—don't call attention to yourself as today is a day of watch and wait.

Panther

Panther medicine is the medicine of silence. Panther can stalk its prey in absolute silence—one of the reasons native tribes associate him with the spirit world—particularly the night. Panther can show you how to face the Shadow within and bring it out into the Light. Panther is powerful medicine—and the fact that you choose him says much about your willingness to face the unknown.

I'd forgotten about this, sugar. THanks! So I did mine and I got the thing that is my biggest fear!

I got the spider, too. Hate 'em, just hate 'em.

I just got that mo-fo again!

Spider medicine is actually a GOOD thing. Even if you hate them, drawing spider is good. :)

Hey!

Wolverine

Wolverine is thought to be a bridge between the physical and spirit worlds. He has the ability to survive in the most difficult terrains—and his message to you is of inner strength. Have you forgotten just how powerful you really are? If so, it’s time to refocus and re-dedicate—and remember that Wolverine medicine runs through your blood.

Woodpecker

Wake up! Woodpecker is tired of trying to get your attention, and will peck and peck and peck until you hear the message. You have received the answer to a major question time and again, but refuse to act on it. It's okay to ignore a solution—but be forewarned that woodpecker will keep making racket until you make some movement forward!

This doesn't sound like me at all. I have no answers to any questions, and I'm not a pecker. :D

I got the polar bear again. :)

Polar Bear

Has Polar Bear lumbered into your reading? If so, he's reminding you of the value of being flexible. Polar Bear instinctively knows how to conserve his energy and will observe a situation before he takes action. Once he decide it's the appropriate time to move forward, however, he has the strength, energy, and fortitude to face whatever dangers lie ahead. Having problems making a change? Polar Bear is here to help, and his message to you is: Take heart, have courage, build your strength, then MOVE!

you do realize that you've posted twice as much as the next highest poster in this one particular thread?

oh well. I just like this thread I suppose. Do you want me to stop or something? I didn't realize there was a limit on posting.

AWESOME!

Butterfly

Beautiful butterfly has fluttered into your reading to remind you of the powerful transformational energies at work in your life. If something important seems to be stagnating, know that transformation is at work just below the surface—and just like the caterpillar, the “cocooned” situation you're fretting about is about to be freed.
