Elizabeth Comes Home

An old friend in Florida, with a daughter serving in Iraq, sent me this email.
Okay, they totally set me up. Chris (Elizabeth’s girlfriend) snapped pictures off of Skype while Elizabeth was in Iraq. She made a whole CD of the pictures and brought them to my 40th b-day party as a gift. So, at the beginning of the party, I was led to the computer to watch the disc. At the end of the disc, there was a video. Well, the rest, you’ll see.

Yes, I thought it was cool enough that you folks would like it. Real people, real sacrifice, real joy. :thumb:

Bruce I loved to watch it and I did get the surprise (from the reaction) and the emotion.

But I don't get what happened. Your friend (female?) was 40?
Or was it his/ her daughter being reunited with her ?girlfriend? Chris?

Sorry, only asking because I'd love to watch it again really understanding.
I think I see a young woman watching a video, showing pictures of another young woman who appears at the end of the clip and is greeted with real happiness.

It's lovely even without understanding completely :)

I think I'm deaf.

and I was a bit confused too, SG, until the end, when the caption came on: Marine surprises her Mother.

Then I had to watch it again!

Bruce's friend is forty, and she is the one looking at images on the computer. Her daughter Elizabeth is serving in Iraq . Elizabeth's girlfriend Chris helped stage this secret homecoming surprise for Elizabeth's mother.

OMG - I forget that 40 is only a couple of years older than me now!
I expect a 40 year old Mum to look... well, older

I've watched it again now and yes it makes complete sense
How very very lovely
