In his new book, The Devil We Know, former CIA operative Robert Baer argues that Iran is an up-and-coming — and often misunderstood — superpower, with strong influences throughout the Middle East.

"The sooner we understand the Iranian paradox — who they are, what they want, how they want to both humble us and work with us — the sooner we'll understand how to come to terms with the new Iranian superpower," writes Baer.

It was a great interview. I would tend to believe someone like him over much of the opinion I hear on here.

Is "The Iran" anywhere near "The Iraq"? [/Miss Teen South Carolina]

Um hard to tell if you are serious, or flippant. But just in case you're being serious, yes they share a very long border. Iraq is to the west of Iran.

Never the less, I would gain more insight from a person who spent his whole life in the business and is willing to share his experiences than someone like tw or other self proclaimed expert who hides behind his key board.
