Ignore

Aliantha • Sep 24, 2008 11:47 pm
Well?

Just one for me.
ZenGum • Sep 24, 2008 11:51 pm
There are quite a few posts/threads/fora which I ignore manually, but none that I ignore electronically.
classicman • Sep 24, 2008 11:54 pm
I have 2 now and I feel very good about them.
DucksNuts • Sep 25, 2008 1:47 am
I love everybody - zero for me.

Plus, I love a good .....err..train wreck
xoxoxoBruce • Sep 25, 2008 2:10 am
Zero, I've got my eye on every one of you.:eyebrow:

lol, now I just know that's not true...well, the first sentance anyway.

I had up to three people on Ignore at one point, and have had probably five people at different times.
In the end I felt it was cowardly of me to Ignore long term - all I was worried about was my temper getting the better of me, and I should be old enough to control that now. I haven't had an issue with anyone since I decided Ignore wasn't for me, but it's always there as added protection if I feel I am getting close to the edge.

After RK left, I was back down to zero. I understand those pictures are gone, so I can take bigw00dy off now too.
Crimson Ghost • Sep 25, 2008 10:26 am
Right now, six.
kerosene • Sep 25, 2008 10:33 am
None here. I figure if I want to ignore someone I can just not read what they write.
lumberjim • Sep 25, 2008 10:36 am
wait a minute people...you're missing the point of this thread. We're supposed to be guessing who ali has on ignore. do i have to tell you everything? gah.
glatt • Sep 25, 2008 10:40 am
That's easy. It's you, Jim. But she can't help herself and clicks on all your posts to open them anyway.
HungLikeJesus • Sep 25, 2008 11:27 am
I have everyone on ignore, even myself.
LabRat • Sep 25, 2008 12:03 pm
nada
classicman • Sep 25, 2008 12:12 pm
Can I ignore myself? I'd like to try that. It'd be much easier than pulling my foot outta my mouth after the fact.

Wrong thread.
lumberjim • Sep 25, 2008 12:56 pm
why yes, there is a striking resemblance between the two threads, isn't there?

Trying to avoid "Athletes Tongue"?
classicman • Sep 25, 2008 4:01 pm
:lol2:
Cloud • Sep 25, 2008 4:04 pm
what happens if you "ignore" someone? something more than not receiving PMs, I take it.
classicman • Sep 25, 2008 4:19 pm
Cloud - I'll assume you're answer is zero. -
Cloud • Sep 25, 2008 4:25 pm
well, yeah. I suppose I could try it to determine the effect, but I really thought it was to block PMs. But few people here seem to use PMs . . .
sweetwater • Sep 25, 2008 4:35 pm
People? None. Should I?

In a thread, you see that the ignored person has posted, but you can't see the contents of their post. There is a button or something in the blank post that you can click on if you want to see the contents of just that one post that one time.
lumberjim • Sep 25, 2008 4:43 pm
how about your buddy list?
classicman • Sep 25, 2008 4:47 pm
I have none - :(
Griff • Sep 25, 2008 4:49 pm
I've got 2. One went away, one didn't. It really isn't that useful a function, since you can't tell from thread updates if someone who isn't ug has posted. I'm probably gonna stop using it.
Aliantha • Sep 25, 2008 5:26 pm
Nope not Jimbo. I'll tell you if you really want to know. I think most of the regs would have realized who it is anyway.
Shawnee123 • Sep 25, 2008 5:29 pm
I have a few on my buddy list: I haven't added anyone in a long time, but there are about 8 on there from when I first started posting and getting to know people.

Which reminds me: whatever happened to KinkyVixen and yesman065? ;)
Cloud • Sep 25, 2008 5:34 pm
well, gee. when the Cellar is getting to me, I usually just ignore the whole thing!

and if you ignore people, how can you gell when they're talking about you? Your ears burn?

AND . . . I wonder who has me on ignore?
Aliantha • Sep 25, 2008 5:51 pm
Having people who annoy you on ignore means you can have a more enjoyable web browsing experience without having to see the *trash they write.

I had Bruce on ignore for a while because he was really annoying me at one point. I didn't care what he was saying when I couldn't see his posts, and the fact that I wasn't seeing them meant I didn't respond even if he was saying something about me (and I don't know if he did or not to this day because I never bothered to go back and look. That would have defeated the purpose). It allowed the dust to settle and there doesn't seem to be an issue these days which I'm glad about. I don't care if it was my paranoia or something else, but we couldn't get along at one stage, and not having to deal with the residual irritation every time I signed in here served a purpose and it worked for me.

I started this thread because Shawnee and someone else were talking about ignoring a couple of people over the pictures in wtfnsfw and it led me to be curious about whether or not many people actually used the ignore feature or not. I think it's been illuminating. I'm sure plenty of people don't give a shit. *shrugs* Good for them. I don't really mind one way or the other.

*Obviously one persons trash is another persons treasure.
Ibby • Sep 25, 2008 7:55 pm
the only person i ever ignored was rk...
and i clicked on like, all his posts and read them anyway.

Do you have any idea what would happen if you did? Why don't you just cross the streams while you're at it, or collide a few hadrons? Jeez.:headshake
Cloud • Sep 25, 2008 8:40 pm
"cross the streams" LOL! nerd!
ZenGum • Sep 25, 2008 11:07 pm

It would be very bad?

Shall I tell you about the Twinkie™?
