Do we have a webcastr shill in our midst?
Clodfobble • Sep 23, 2008 11:38 pm
Chyeah. I figured everyone had just decided to ignore him.

I figured that from the first post he was warming up for a big spamming. So far I'm reading him as lame, but he could work his way up to annoying.

Exactly.

Shhh, here he comes.
ZenGum • Sep 24, 2008 2:38 am
Shhhhhh. Lets be really quiet and maybe it will go away.

Either that or we call out the dogs.

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shill

A shill is an associate of a person selling goods or services or a political group, who pretends no association to the seller/group and assumes the air of an enthusiastic customer. The intention of the shill is, using crowd psychology, to encourage others unaware of the set-up to purchase said goods or services or support the political group's ideological claims. Shills are often employed by confidence artists. In the UK the term plant is also used.

Thanks I knew what a shill was. I was confused on the webcastr part. So what is he trying to get people to look at his web videos or something?
footfootfoot • Sep 24, 2008 11:21 am
every post links to a video hosting site. I doubt the vids are his, (s)he's just sending us there.
classicman • Sep 24, 2008 11:34 am
Gotcha - this new internet thingy is pretty neat.

We ain't one-at-a-timin' here. We're MASS communicating!

PS could we cut off his access to the little thread taggy thingys? I really don't believe every vid he tries to shove down our throats warrants a "LOOK AT ME" yield sign looking thing. I love me some smilies, but I hate those things: "look how important my thread is compared to yours.":headshake
footfootfoot • Sep 24, 2008 2:04 pm
My thread has 27 awesome.
classicman • Sep 24, 2008 2:33 pm

OR, the freaking grinning "LOOK HOW FUNNY MY THREAD IS."

Sheesh.
Shawnee123 • Sep 24, 2008 4:53 pm
OK, I just counted. 10 threads started (directing us to watch vids at the same site):

4-exclamation point post icons
2--big giant grin post icons
1-sad face post icon
1-"file" post icon
1-question mark in a circle post icon

So, I'm eagerly awaiting a lightbulb post icon, a thumbs up or thumbs down post icon, and a mad face post icon.

Seriously, my eyes would hurt if every new thread started by anyone used one of those stupid things.
BigV • Sep 24, 2008 4:55 pm
and no other posts. no reply to anyone's comment, no original content save the opening teaser. Content free, easy to ignore.
classicman • Sep 24, 2008 5:01 pm
What if they attached a link to them in one of their posts??? lol
BigV • Sep 24, 2008 5:15 pm
um... what?
classicman • Sep 24, 2008 11:44 pm
that was for S123 - she had a thread about inserting links into smilies - - - oh nevermind.
Shawnee123 • Sep 25, 2008 9:29 am
