Here we go again?

Trilby • Sep 21, 2008 10:03 pm
I'm a bit worried. Last couple days my left arm has been aching. I thought, well, I need to do my exercises (post-lymphectomy/lumpectomy) more often No problem. THEN I saw an abrasion on my left breast and tonight I noticed my left breast is RED and sorta swollen, though my left arm is not. No fever.

Called the surgeon and she Rx'd some Keflex for me which I got tonight at a 24 hr pharmacy. IF this is Inflammatory Breast Cancer (which is the first thing that ran thru my mind when I saw how red it was) I am going to be HIGHLY PISSED

I can't belive this. If this comes back...aye yi yi. I will be so mad! I'll get a double mastectomy rather than go thru what I went thru last year.

DAMMIT.

I'm probably over-reacting.

DucksNuts • Sep 21, 2008 10:49 pm

Sending my best wishes

Is that the same boob as before? am thinking of you hon, hope it's nothing worse than some git thought it would be funny to put itching powder in your bra (and if that turns out to be the case, please let me help you castrate them).
Clodfobble • Sep 21, 2008 11:19 pm
We'll all be thinking about you, Bri. Let us know how things are going.
xoxoxoBruce • Sep 22, 2008 12:22 am
No we don't... stop it... right now!
We'll have no more of that shit, young lady.
You've got people to see, places to go, professors to stalk. :p
Juniper • Sep 22, 2008 12:26 am
I'm so sorry Bri, hope it's nothing but a bit of a rash.

Wanna meet for coffee Tues.? You can bitch all you want, I'll listen. :D
Aliantha • Sep 22, 2008 12:50 am
Maybe just an ordinary old hair folicle infection or something. Could very well be nothing, so that's what we'll all be hoping for.
Trilby • Sep 22, 2008 12:09 pm
thanks, all. I am probably doing my normal over-reacting bit, but I WAS alarmed when I saw how red it was---and yes, it IS the same breast that had that nasty cancer in it. Left side. Probably just some lymph build up that started in my arm and, since it has no where to go, went into the breast, irritated it. Two doses of Keflex in me now. Great thing about Keflex---also clears up any facial skin issues,so should have nice clear skin for awhile! :)
classicman • Sep 22, 2008 1:37 pm
Whew! That's good to hear.
ZenGum • Sep 22, 2008 6:32 pm
Oh shit.

Say it aint so. Please be a false alarm.

Please keep us posted.
DanaC • Sep 22, 2008 9:03 pm
Hope all's well honey. Try not to worry too much (as pointless a piece of advice as I have ever given!) it's more than likely nothing sinister. *hugs*
Sundae • Sep 23, 2008 12:43 pm
Fingers crossed. And of course you're going to be paranoid for a while - just come here and talk about it and we'll reassure you that it might not be the worst case scenario , "Sometimes things don't go after all from bad to worse"

My mom, a breast cancer survivor, recently had a conversation with her doctor because she was going through some horrendous neck pain out of nowhere. She and the doc agreed that once you've had cancer, you worry that everything is cancer. She was OK after all, and I know you will be, too. :)
Trilby • Sep 23, 2008 5:20 pm
yeah, i think it's getting better with the antibiotics.
DanaC • Sep 23, 2008 8:04 pm
Good to hear Bri. *smiles*
monster • Sep 24, 2008 12:49 am
do you have to go for any tests?
lumberjim • Sep 24, 2008 12:58 am
I'm late to this thread, but i wanted to offer my services. I totally forgot to tell you that my cock cures cancer. If it DOES come back, i'll administer the schwanze to your ta-tas in such a way that the cancer will flee in terror.

trust me. I know what I'm doing.

I just have to clear it with my wife first.

kthxbai.

I suspect I have oral, vaginal and anal cancer!
Let me know as soon as Jinx gives you the go ahead, oh healing guru.
Shawnee123 • Sep 24, 2008 8:47 am
Whew...you're lucky to not get hand cancer, that would only be good for lj! :)
classicman • Sep 24, 2008 10:09 am

Someone's been biting your breast?

Well that explains the red marks, right there.
