Mexicant

Rexmons • Sep 14, 2008 6:38 am
My friend "Crazy Joe" was over my house tonight and the two of us were hanging out bullshitting at around two in the morning. He needed to go to his car to get his cigarettes and about 20 seconds after he walked out the front door I heard him call my name from outside. As I stood up to look out the window and see what he wanted, he screamed my name. I instantly knew something was wrong from the way he screamed the second time (I live in a rough neighborhood) so I grabbed this knife I keep next to me and ran outside. When I opened the front door I saw him standing over some little Mexican guy who was lying in a pool of blood. Apparently this drunken idiot was just sitting in my friends car and when my friend opened the door and said what are you doing in my car, the guy said "no this is my car". Just as my friend noticed his car radio was hanging out the dash (the guy was trying to steal it), the Mexican guy tried making a run for it but was stopped short by a serious three piece combo as he was getting out. His blood was all over the street, on the outside of the car, on the back right window, and some splash back got on my friend. Just as the police arrived I thought maybe I should record this on my phone so here's what happened about 5 seconds after the cops showed up. By the way he left in an ambulance.

I don't know what this means, sorry (which means I don't get why he is bloody)

so...the guy was shot (?) for a car stereo?
Undertoad • Sep 14, 2008 9:52 am
Dude wasn't shot it looks like he was just dealt a severe beatdown.
regular.joe • Sep 14, 2008 10:22 am
That was a big cop.
Cicero • Sep 14, 2008 12:16 pm
"No this is my car..." lol! Sounds about right, though it's hilarious!!! lol!

Like your friend was going to say, "oh sorry, my bad". And turn around and walk off...

I think that would totally piss me off. (at the time)

Isn't a 3-piece-combo aka the family jewels? Which doesn't make sense in this context, but....

[offtopic]googling for other interpretations found me the Alternative French Dictionary which is an interesting little site for those who like bad words [/offtopic]

I don't get the thread title. Is it supposed to be funny or something?
xoxoxoBruce • Sep 14, 2008 12:39 pm
No problem, he'll get the best medical care the taxpayers can buy, and be back on the street stealing stereos in no time. :eyebrow:
Cicero • Sep 14, 2008 12:44 pm
Nahh, this sounds like someone is going to get deported.

So it's a punny, then.

I wonder what Rexmons would've called it if the stereo thief was a white or black guy? Nothing comes to mind right off the bat.
Rexmons • Sep 14, 2008 4:03 pm
sorry for not elaborating - by three piece combo i mean a 3 punch combo. By the way can anyone translate what the hell this guy was saying? All we understood was "Cerveza" (beer).

African't American, Caucasain't? I dunno the Mexican't thing is from that movie where he says to the Mexican guy "are you a MexiCAN or a MexiCan't?"
Elspode • Sep 14, 2008 4:06 pm
If more people got their asses kicked for trying to steal car stereos, I'll wager that there'd be far fewer stolen car stereos.

Shit's gotta stop somewhere. People suck. I mean, I don't speak Spanish for shit, but when the dude is sitting on the ground talking, I'm betting he wasn't saying, "Yeah, I had some beers and thought it would be a good idea to steal this guy's radio, but they caught me in the act and beat the shit out of me. Guess I probably deserved it."

I'm thinking he was probably spewing some BS hoping he'd get out of it somehow...so he's a thief and a liar, and therefore scum, I think. Oh, and BTW...race doesn't enter into it. Scum is scum.
Chocolatl • Sep 14, 2008 5:11 pm
The only parts I could hear/understand were:
"Yo no debo nada," which means "I don't owe anything," and something about "dos cervezas que no pague" -- "two beers I didn't pay for."
Cicero • Sep 14, 2008 6:07 pm
Yea....I like social justice. He tried to steal someone's stereo and then argue whether it was his car or not. Ass kicking deserved, thank you.

"Crazy Joe" may be crazy.....but it doesn't look like he's a squemish dumbass either. Go Joe!

I'll ask my wife, who is a native Mexican.

She says he declares that he stopped at Don Pedro's cantina and only had two beers. He repeats this several times. The police begin giving him instructions in Spanish, he curses at them (in English), the police translator asks him if he speaks English (he says no), the police continue telling him to stand up, be quiet, pay attention to me, and that they are arresting him (presumably for b&e and attempted theft). He swears some more then is taken into custody.

That's the best she can make out of the bad audio.

Does this help at all?
xoxoxoBruce • Sep 15, 2008 1:52 am
Speaking of Mexican'ts.
Sundae • Sep 15, 2008 5:01 am
Thanks for the translation Brian.
And it proves what Spode says - scum is scum regardless of colour.

When I thought that your friend had hit him with some kind of weapon I did think it was an over-reaction. However I'm all for approprite response, and given that he was punched, I'd say that it serves him bloody well right. Hope he got a cracking headache out of it.

According to the video, truer words were never spoken.
BrianR • Sep 15, 2008 9:57 am
SG - thank my wife, Mary. I only know about 30 words in Spanish.
Rexmons • Sep 15, 2008 10:23 am
Brian please give Mary my thanks as well. Unfortunately, because the level of drug and alcohol abuse is so high here, these types of crimes are abundant. But to quote Bob Dylan - "In Paterson that's just the way things go."

Poor fella's lucky he didn't get a .357 in the chest.
Clodfobble • Sep 15, 2008 9:12 pm
Rexmons' friend is lucky too. Back in high school, a classmate caught a guy breaking into his car, and the guy turned and stabbed him in the stomach as soon as he approached. Kid later died.
toranokaze • Sep 17, 2008 1:44 am
