Summer days with the boys

I don't get the camera out as often as I should and I post pics even more rarely than that. Here is a little glimpse of what Saturdays look like for me.

Here is Lil Lookout warming up outside for soccer. His net is behind me to my left. I'm not stupid enough to let him shoot at me for a photo op. and somehow I got those pics in reverse order anyway.

And what do nerds do after soccer? Set up a Star Wars battle, of course.
lookout123 • Jul 16, 2008 4:35 pm
And the battle is able to be set up because all the while 2.0 is sleeping.

Anyway, that is a glimpse into my saturdays. I'm less than competent at the photo editing and resizing, thus the different sizes and qualities. But that's the general idea anyway.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing.

Dude, you have a golf course in your backyard?
Chocolatl • Jul 16, 2008 4:47 pm
Looks like a very happy weekend life, especially for 2.0.
Is that your backyard that Lil'Lookout is playing on? Your grass looks like some kind of impeccably maintained golf course!

(I guess Shawnee beat me to the golf course comment while I was looking for the snoozy smiley.)

Fantastic! And so cute. LOVE LL's mohawk.
Assume that's football friendly astroturf you have there?
DanaC • Jul 16, 2008 5:21 pm
Oh what wonderful pics:) Thanks for sharing Lookout!

That first pic has what looks like a golf hole. Maybe he has a green he putts on? Maybe he does a little night putting?

Ty Webb: Let me tell you a little story: I once knew a guy who could have been a great golfer, could have gone pro, all he needed was a little time and practice. Decided to go to college instead. Went for four years, did pretty well. At the end of his four years, his last semester he was kicked out... You know what for? He was night putting, just putting at night with the fifteen-year-old daughter of the Dean... You know who that guy was Danny?

Danny Noonan: No.

Ty Webb: Take one good guess.

Danny Noonan: Bob Hope?

Ty Webb: Ha ha... No, that guy was Mitch Comstein, my roommate. He was a good guy.

Awesome pics! LL looks like a natural.

Do you have a putt putt course in your back yard?
Shawnee123 • Jul 16, 2008 6:08 pm
Hey cousin. I was just wondering: Do you have a golf course in your backyard?
lookout123 • Jul 16, 2008 6:08 pm
Thanks all. Yes it is turf in the backyard. It is a decent size green area with three holes and a couple of different slopes. A little further away is a smalling pitching area next to a very neglected sandtrap. When I built the house I still felt like I needed to golf for business purposes but I hate it so I refuse to pick up a club now. I want to rip it all out and install a bit longer football/soccer fieldturf. Mrs L won't let me right now though.:(

Ahhh, I see. But tell me, do you have a golf course in your backyard?

Sorry, can't help myself. Great pics, man!

Love the Mohawk. And the Stars Wars battle, and "2.0"--so cute!

Awesome pics - looks like you have great kids and a great life. Good for you.

Hey nice golf course.... is that in your back yard?
Shawnee123 • Jul 17, 2008 8:26 am
Hmmm. That is a good question.

;)

I love LL's face. Nice action shot! 3- 2- 1. . . POW!!!

The pic of 2.0 gave me a flashback to when our pup was still in a crib. . . she was a lifesize Where's Waldo of babies and stuffed animals too.
lookout123 • Jul 18, 2008 12:58 pm
What's funny is 2.0 has a certain arrangement for them that we don't understand. i don't see the pattern at all, but he obviously does because he resets them the same way everytime he goes to bed. You should see him the day after the cleaning ladies come. they line up his animals in cute little rows, but he nearly goes into convulsions when he sees them. He takes them all apart to line them up in his own way again.

You know he's really pissed if he just throws them all out of the crib.
Griff • Jul 18, 2008 3:18 pm
As a kid, Pete had some kind of fairness doctrine in place which meant each animal got the "good" place by turn, but the rest had to be looking in particular directions.

I miss them being so cute and young and little. SonofV returned from camp last week and *insisted* on picking me up. Literally. He's this >< close.
