Cheating Husband Kidnaps Himself

claiming he was kidnapped in order to avoid getting in trouble with his wife after staying out all night with friends.

Shortly after 11 a.m., Rivas allegedly told investigators that he was bound, forced to drink transmission fluid and left in the trunk of his car abandoned under a river levee bridge near San Miguel. But eventually Rivas admitted the tale was a hoax to cover up after hanging out with three friends, two of whom are women, investigators said.

Investigators said Rivas allegedly struck his head against the side of his car and poured transmission fluid on himself to look like he was roughed up by the kidnappers.

A 31-year-old man, has been arrested and charged with false alarm or report. His bond has been set at $5,000. . .

At about noon Thursday, Doña Ana County Sheriff's Department deputies found Rivas in the desert disoriented with minor injuries. Rivas allegedly told deputies he was tied and left in the trunk of his car underneath a river levee bridge on New Mexico Highway 192 near San Miguel . . .

The fabricated story caused the several agencies to respond and assist in the search, and also disrupted residents in the Canutillo area, he said. "We are not going to tolerate the abuse of the 911 system," he said.

And this was not as bad as what he thought his wife would have done!

btw I like how they say "three friends, two of whom are women" in other words him and a buddy picked up two bar whores.

Wouldn't he have died if he had actually drunk transmission fluid? It certainly sounds as if he ingested something on his walk on the wild side. If there's such a thing as criminal stupidity, this guy definately qualifies.

Good hook in the thread title: right away I was imagining the guy driving his car off from inside the trunk. If he tied his feet together, it better have an automatic tranny...

But without question, this man is divorce bait. Cut the bait, and go fishing elsewhere, wronged wife.
