Cirque du Soleil

This was absolutely amazing.
One of the most entertaining performance shows I have ever seen, hands down.

I have taken acrobatics for granted, seeing this in person made me awe-struck. I'm afraid of heights and I was secretly praying to the Lord that the people 40 feet up doing RIDICULOUS stunts would be ok.

Go see it. Awesome.

I saw Cirque's "Love" in Vegas this past January. It was stunning. Like being on drugs without the drugs.

I have been to Cirque's Mystere [6th row back] and Zumanity [front row, in the red velvet loveseat!]. Nearly wept. OK, I admit, I did weep. Being close, I could see the graceful, powerful motions and see the sweat and hear the grunts from the incredible effort of the artists. Overwhelming.

UH, see motions/sweat and hear the grunts, from the red velvet love seat?
Where was this again? :haha:

Kooza show.
In Chicago. No it wasn't free, 112 dollars for front row tickets.

At the beginning, some of the cast interacts with the audience, and I was part of that. Pretty fun.

But damn, seeing stunts right in front of your eyes is just mesmerizing.

Fresh, I am so jealous! I love Cirque du Soleil, but have never seen it live. Have seen lots of the videos. My brother and nieces went to a show about 4 years ago and bought some masks at the end of the show. Beautiful they were.

You forgot the weeping! Guys always forget the weeping part. :sniff:
It all happened in Las Vegas, which would also make a new tourism slogan if they want to buy it from me.

My mom always loved Cirque. Then my brother got us all tickets for Delirium. It was awful. There was a guy whose job it was to walk around the stage looking confused the entire time. I know art, and you are no art.

However, then my brother also saw Love and said it was wonderful.

Which one did you see, freshnesschronic?

Saw them back in the 80's when they were still doing tent shows at the Santa Monica Pier. Almost made the o-face at O and Love was great, too.

I saw the show they do in Orlando (Downtown Disney)

Amazing!!!

Have seen Mystere in Vegas a few times as well as Saltimbanco. They tour each year and always come to Seattle to perform for a couple of weeks in a circus tent set up across from one of the Boeing facilities.

I've seen the outside of the Cirque tent a couple times in the parking lot across from my work.

I've seen three shows, Love, O and one other whose name escapes me...the one in the village of Ka.

I was less entertained by O than the others but I'm an old fogey.

I've also shared the road with them...

I saw Love in Las Vegas. Didn't like it. The gymnastics/acrobatics were amazing but the whole thing had the quality of a weird nightmare.

I highly recommend Cirque du Soleil. I have only had the pleasure of seeing "La Nouba" live. I own "Quidam" on DVD, but would not pass up an opportunity to see them, again.

Beautifully choreographed, wonderful talent, unusual story lines.
