The License Plate Game
You remember it--trying to find out of state license plates as your parents dragged you around in the car during the summer vacation. This summer we went to Hawaii, and the kids in the back observed that the normally *very rare* Hawaii plate was superabundant. The game became "find one that isn't from Hawaii". And sure enough, the genius who came up with the idea soon spotted one. From Alaska!! :eek: Boy, is he lost.
I think we could have a fun game of it here. Take a picture of the license plate and post it. I've included a list of states, feel free to copy the list as your "bingo" card. I'll start off with one from my home state of Washington. Each player's home state should be pretty easy, don't you think?
I think we should only post pictures we've taken, since cribbing them from the intarwebz would be too easy. Be safe out on the highway, though. Pass the wheel or the camera to the navigator if things get too hairy, ok?

We did the exact same thing and the first we saw was also from Alaska. Did we vacation together V?
To be fair I won't play this game since I should be able to find nearly all of those within a few hours where I live.

Are you kidding, you have all fifty states in a couple hours? No way. I doubt you could do it in a weekend, or even a week. We have a pretty big city here, and *I* don't think I could blackout all fifty in a month. And I've been looking. I have held back in anticipation of creating this thread, but now... look out! (O, sry bout the pun!). Besides, if you play, then the other cool kids will want to play too.

remember where i live my friend. no one is from here and many keep their original residency because our license, registration, and insurance fees are so high. i lived here for ten years before dropping my illinois plates.

it's kind of silly of us to smear license plates. i mean.....it's right on your car out there in the open all day long.
I took that picture a while back. I don't know why I bothered doing it...not like you can really do a whole lot with a license plate number here. Especially since my personalized plates should be arriving any day now.

wow. long post. I tried to make the latest post with the state listing my cumulative total. I copy my previous post, then only add and bold the states included in the new post. Rinse, repeat.

The first two letters of a UK registration tell you where the car was registered. There are 19 different areas but there are a number of different letter combinations for each area.
We used to play I-Spy on the motorway when we went on holiday, trying to collect all the different regions, but it's certainly not a photo-worthy endeavour like it is with your plates.
We used to split into two teams, and -taking the last two digits of the number part of the registration, one would count up from 00 to 99 and one down from 99 to 00.
For US peeps, Brit plates have a very specific format with numbers and letters. you wouldn't believe how much people pay for vanity plates -even ones with 1 for I and 4 for A etc. Brits, most states here you can pretty much have anything you want on your plate for a relatively small fee. ours are all letters.

Missed Kansas and some other foreign plate... Here's a shot of my favorite fishing hole. The carpool minimum is THREE and not two, and excludes all these rich dumb people ( :haha: ). Seriously, this is a stressful stretch of road. The carpool lane is also the collector distributor lane (Gawd, I hate that concept) and there's a ton of traffic just trying to get on the highway. I have to defend my choice to drive only 20 mph faster than the adjacent lane because of my fear that some frustrated driver will pop out of that jam RIGHTINFRONTOFMEHOLYCRAP!!!! So, I take it easy, and keep my eye open for new plates.
