Kaleigh's mom works for K-State, and sends along this link to pics of the destruction in Manhattan, KS from Wednesday night's tornado.

Dam overflow in the Wisconsin Dells...Cedar Rapids under water...tornadoes in record numbers. Is Gaea trying to tell us something?

Pity Iowa can't ship California all that water. We have a place to put it.

UG, I was thinking the same thing. We could use it down in GA as well. Keep the tornados, we have plenty of those.

We had a nasty storm come through in the Chicago area Sunday morning. Between lightning and wind damage, 90,000 home ended up without power. Ours was out for 12 hours. It made for a weird fathers day.

it's HOT. that's all I know.

but that's normal for here.

The Aspen ski area in Colorado re-opened last week. Here's an article.

I have been wondering about the weather, too. Hmm.

This was from a storm we saw while in Wichita. The tornado never really formed, but there were several around the area, touching down. We even heard the local tornado alert sirens go off.

Instead of tornadoes -- apart from the very occasional waterspout; maybe the water's too cool -- we get jiggles.

from what i've read we're (apparently) still melting ice off from the ice age, more water, more moisture in the air, more storms~?
and the less ice there is the faster it melts. (A water world would be cool~) Or we're experiencing a slow start to armageddon.

I'll be trying to get washing done and it'll be sunny in the morning and then sudden rain in the afternoon.. and then it'll rain for a week and no clothes... not clean ones anyway.
And because the rain is back here,(after 10 year drought) people have built homes in former flood plains....

Welcome to the Cellar, Meppin. :D

No, water world would definitely suck... sharks with candygrams, and all that.

I wonder what folks who lived through the dust bowl would say, if the Cellar had been around back then?
xoxoxoBruce • Jun 23, 2008 11:53 pm
They would have said, cough cough sputter choke spit. ;)

The weather here is cold and windy, but it might have something to do with it being winter here.
