Salad!

Jinx and I make the best salads. I don't know or care how healthy they are, they just rock. We make them late at night. Usually, around midnight.

tonight's ingredients:

mixed baby greens
campari tomatoes
2 avocados, sliced
cubed turkey breast
red seedless grapes
mandarin oranges
sliced roasted almonds
newman's raspberry walnut vinaigrette dressing

I cannot believe this...

yik. salad at night. with avocados, no less.

My ideal (unhealthy) salad would probably be a classic Chicken Caesar - with anchovies natch. Or if I have a really big appetite a Cobb Salad.

But if I go to the salad bar in Sainsburys (and my mouth is watering now thinking about it) I always include:
Olives
Peppers
Red onion - or scallions if they have them
Boiled egg
Blue cheese dressing
Kidney beans/ chickpeas
Couscous

No, none of them go together, I just love them!
And I am queen of filling the carton to the max.

actually, now that I look at it....it doesn't actually say vinaigrette.

what I'm wondering is when do jinx and Lj sleep? coz it seems like 'never' is the answer to that one.

I make a dinner salad for Keryx that includes,
Classic romaine in the bag
tomatoes
onion
minced garlic
carrots
celery
prunes
cashews, or pecans, or both
salt and pepper
toasted Asian sesame dressing (Kraft)
Keryx calls this a salad event.:yum:

Some time in the summer I will come home from work and I need a Jethro Bodeen Sized salad , Carol has NEVER Failed to deliver !!!!!

toasted pecans (just put in a frying pan and stir)
gorgonzola crumbles

Mint
organic romaine lettuce
Yam Vietnamese noodles
chicken chunks
chopped fresh garlic
salt
pepper
lemon lime viniagrette
olive oil
That is some fresh in my mouth-awesome!!
Pretty simple but makes me happy...

Iceberg and Dorothy Lynch = the only way to go. Maybe sprinkle some sunflower seeds on if there are some around.

Really good website for food called chow.com. Check it out - especially you Sundae girl got all you favourite food. As well as brilliant tips on prepping, cooking etc worth a favourite store as in my books coz I love cooking.
