Rorschach Milkblot Test

yeah, soap actually breaks water tention. My college chemistry teacher taught me that if you put a drop of soap in a pond next to a water strider, it will break the tention and he will go under.

Not really humane, but kinda funny nonetheless

guess you weren't paying so much at-tention in spelling class, though, huh? :p

/word nazi

(tension.
and monkeys.)

//really done now. honest. saying nuthin' about surface tension. nuthin'.

Cool party trick, though.

dont really care about spelling when I am typing fast. Spelling has never been high on my list of things that matter in life.

Here is the same principle applied differently
Still a good trick for kids

We can see that it doesn't matter to you. It does, however, make things more difficult for the reader.

no, not really. Obviously if you know what words to correct me on, there is no problem. Besides, havent you seen the letter sent around about spelling and the way the brain works and how we really only need to read the first and last letter.
So, yes...your remarks and insults toward me have been noted and I still dont care. My typing speed is over 100 wpm, and yes, I make mistakes, but if it is legible, I am not going to care too much. But yeah, good job on being a dick. Mission accomplished there.

I don't see that I have been particularly insulting. I made two statements that I believe to be true.

1) You don't care about your spelling.
2) Words that are not spelled correctly make the reader work harder.

While it is true that the text can still be read when mangled, it takes additional time and effort on the part of the reader. Reading is a matter of scanning and pattern recognition. While the human mind is an amazing thing and can make up for a lot of signal distortion, it does take additional work when the pattern is distorted.

Everyone makes spelling mistakes. In the larger realm of things this is not a major event. But I think one should spell as well as they are able in order to make things as easy as possible for those who go through the effort to read what you've written.

tention for tension is not a typo. especially twice. but now you've practically insisted I go there. wtf is water tension? hmm? OK, we know what you mean ('cause we're actually quite smart here), but at least use the correct terms when attempting to patronise us with your awesome scientific knowledge. mmmkay?
