A Small Dose of Spring, Missouri Style

Elspode • Apr 19, 2008 10:00 pm
So, we made a quick overnight trip down to the inlaws' place at Pomme de Terre Lake in Southeast Central Missouri Friday night/Saturday, so I thought I'd use up some digits and play with my camera. Here's some stuff to whet your appetites for Spring. I'm really a better photographer than these pics would seem to indicate, but I have a relatively cheap and limiting camera. Enjoy, despite my inadequacies.

Pic 1 - Bee on an apple blossom.
Pic 2 - Flowering Almond

Missouri soil is about as nasty as it comes - half clay and half rock shrapnel (edges sharp as razors).

And yet, beautiful stuff grows there as you can see from Els' pictures.

There's probably a moral in there somewhere.

I need to get some shots of my own damn yard...but I'm late on the peach trees we planted last year. The blossoms were frigging spectacular.

BTW, blossom slut...in case I haven't been perfectly clear and succinct on this matter, I'd love to examine *your* petals sometime. :D

Well, here's one of my own flora, and my little fauna as well. Shot this one yesterday in our yard right after our Beltane ritual. Dogwood and L are both in full bloom.
TheMercenary • May 5, 2008 7:39 pm
Dogwood? is that him in the lower left of the picture, little brown guy?

Oh, you mean the tree! Sorry, I don't see a tree, only some hot babe.
xoxoxoBruce • May 5, 2008 7:41 pm
Dog? Tree? Oh, I was looking at the bush, sorry.

She claims to have not realized her shirt was falling off. I am dubious.
