A Small Dose of Spring, Missouri Style
So, we made a quick overnight trip down to the inlaws' place at Pomme de Terre Lake in Southeast Central Missouri Friday night/Saturday, so I thought I'd use up some digits and play with my camera. Here's some stuff to whet your appetites for Spring. I'm really a better photographer than these pics would seem to indicate, but I have a relatively cheap and limiting camera. Enjoy, despite my inadequacies.
Pic 1 - Bee on an apple blossom.
Pic 2 - Flowering Almond
Pic 1 - Macro daffodil
Pice 2 - Macro tulip guts with just a pinch of camera strap.
Pic 1 - Grape Hyacinth w/flash
Pic 2 - Lilac, just about ready to go to town.
Pic 1 - Wild Violets
Pic 2 - A heavily hybridized tulip of some sort.
Pic 1 - Dunno...something flowering.
Pic 2 - Leaves and water in a birdbath, macro.
Pic 1 - Grape Hyacinth and some rocks in my wife's 92 year old grandmother's front yard.
Pic 2- Some sort of really pretty little flowers growing in the yard...guess its a weed?
Pic 1 - Native redbuds are insanely common and beautiful in Missouri.
Pic 2 - The best attempt at a red/blue 3D pic from my outing today.
Nice camera. I can just about smell those flowers.
oh redbud. How beautiful are thy branches. That color is intoxicating. Thanks for posting those,
Apple blossoms? They're ahead of us. Nice pics, Els.
Yeah, way ahead of here. Thanks Spode!
Missouri soil is about as nasty as it comes - half clay and half rock shrapnel (edges sharp as razors).
And yet, beautiful stuff grows there as you can see from Els' pictures.
There's probably a moral in there somewhere.

That and a morel.

Thanks Elspode - lovely pics. I've pinched the widl violets for my desktop!
Good plan Batman!
Am off to plunder the Cellar for desktop images now!
Elspode--I'm such a blossom slut! thanks!
:flower:
I need to get some shots of my own damn yard...but I'm late on the peach trees we planted last year. The blossoms were frigging spectacular.
BTW, blossom slut...in case I haven't been perfectly clear and succinct on this matter, I'd love to examine *your* petals sometime. :D
Well, here's one of my own flora, and my little fauna as well. Shot this one yesterday in our yard right after our Beltane ritual. Dogwood and L are both in full bloom.
Dogwood? is that him in the lower left of the picture, little brown guy?
Oh, you mean the tree! Sorry, I don't see a tree, only some hot babe.
Dog? Tree? Oh, I was looking at the bush, sorry.
She claims to have not realized her shirt was falling off. I am dubious.
and others are thankful....
