If Your Life Was a Movie, What Genre Would It Be?
Don't know? Need help? Take the quiz.
Sundae • Apr 8, 2008 5:26 am
Indie Movie apparently:
You do things your own way - and it's made for colorful times.
Your life hasn't turned out how anyone expected, thank goodness!

Your best movie matches: Clerks, Garden State, Napoleon Dynamite

But HM says my life is a soap opera - improbable at times, capable of lightning fast changes and farcical situations..

Hmmm

The Movie Of Your Life Is A Black Comedy

In your life, things are so twisted that you just have to laugh.
You may end up insane, but you'll have fun on the way to the asylum.

Your best movie matches: Being John Malkovich, The Royal Tenenbaums, American Psycho
Trilby • Apr 8, 2008 8:19 am
Indie Flick.

I want it to star Martha Plimpton or Fairuza Balk.
glatt • Apr 8, 2008 8:36 am
It's a cross between a documentary and a do-it-yourself show. Jeff Goldblum stars.

Dana, we're in the same movie! :)

But I like Sundae's movies...I like indie film, but I do like black comedies, too.

What a great line!:notworthy

I matched Dana and Shawnee! (For exemplary movies I'd have picked Lost In Translation and American Splendor.)

The Movie Of Your Life Is A Cult Classic

Quirky, offbeat, and even a little campy - your life appeals to a select few.
But if someone's obsessed with you, look out! Your fans are downright freaky.

I was an Indie movie, too. I don't know if I have seen any of those but they sound interesting.

She was in The Craft and Waterboy. I love Waterboy.

I was an indie film. What the heck are those?
Shawnee123 • Apr 8, 2008 12:59 pm
Indie film=independent film.

Movies produced outside the Hollywood studio system, and "art" movies.
lookout123 • Apr 8, 2008 1:00 pm
She was also in American History X. Although her character was deplorable, her image was divine.

I was an indie too. I'd slit my wrists if I actually thought I was living Napoleon Dynamite though.
Shawnee123 • Apr 8, 2008 1:02 pm
Oooh, American History X. What a great, if hard to watch at times, movie.

NOW I know who she is...good actress!
Cicero • Apr 8, 2008 4:48 pm
Black Comedy- But I already knew that.....
:)
They are going to have to mix it up though, it's an Indie, black comedy, meets horrific after school special.
warch • Apr 8, 2008 7:35 pm
Cult classic.
Your best movie matches: Office Space, Showgirls, The Big Lebowski

Although my life has some rules...
spudcon • Apr 8, 2008 8:32 pm
Quiz sez Black Comedy, but I'm caucasian, so the quiz must be wrong. If I were king, my life would be "It's a Wonderful Life," redone to be a Dirty Harry movie.
zippyt • Apr 8, 2008 8:32 pm
So what if you're a little nihilistic at times?
Life with meaning is highly over-rated.

Your best movie matches: Sin City, L. A. Confidential, Blade Runner

btw...it's too easy to manipulate the results of that test. :P

My friends are characters yet I am quite boringly normal.
I would say indie drama/dark humor.

Bull shit Splode , Your Life is a Porn Flick !!!!
Elspode • Apr 9, 2008 8:39 pm
Gosh...I know so much more about myself now that I've taken several of these tests:

My inner pop princess is Kelly Clarkson
I am disturbingly profound (instead of profoundly disturbed)
I am a perfect speller
My love element is Earth
I am not prejudiced
I am a Georgia O'Keefe painting

I used to say that I wanted to live Ferris Bueller's life. It was all one big adventure. Now that I'm older I know for a fact that I'm in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Unfortunately I'm playing the part of Ed Rooney.
Sundae • Apr 10, 2008 4:31 pm
My inner pop princess is Kylie (I ate her whole)
I am disturbed
I am a perfectly flawless liar
My love element is mud
I am not prejudiced, except against other people
My psche is a Dali painting
Cloud • Apr 10, 2008 5:05 pm
ahem! I believe that's supposed to be "If your life were a move. . . ", so I'll pick Eats, Shoots, and Leaves. (which hasn't been made into a movie, yet, but ohshitohwell)
Sundae • Apr 10, 2008 5:07 pm
Nope, movie is singular, therefore was is correct.
As in:
The group was shown round the castle.
The children were shown round the castle.
Cloud • Apr 10, 2008 5:08 pm
no, it's subjunctive tense--referring to something that has not happened or may not happen.
Sundae • Apr 10, 2008 5:16 pm

footfootfoot • Apr 11, 2008 6:51 pm
Was=past tense
were=conditional

If your life were a movie.

Was would only be correct if the sentence meant "had your life been a movie"

Just sharing a little bit of the grammar queen's endless attempts at getting me to speak the english good.

Oh yeah, and by the way, keep your elbows off the table,
and quit walking across my nice clean floor!

It says mine would be a Noir film...kind of like Blade Runner.
