My 27 yr old daughter just called me after seeing that her live in boyfriend has been checking out women on Craigslist. He says he was just bored, and "you don't trust me anyway" YA THINK???!!! She doesn't think he has called any of these girls yet, but doesn't trust him. What is your take on this?
I think it's NOT okay to look. If he's bored, he should make dinner or paint the living room.
I hate the guy anyway. She works foodservice and dishes at a hospital, worked two 11 hr days in a row, and came home the second day to the kitchen being a wreck. He had been off work that day, and the day before, and yet she had to run 3 dishwasher loads before she could even find the sink :mad2:

I agree Cloud. He looks at porn, which I personally don't care about (my husband does too) but this is a whole different thing.

I do not believe that the mere reading of personal ads is in and of itself an indication of guilt or innocence. But if there are other problems/issues with the relationship the Craigslist incident can become a focal point for frustrations that really have their roots elsewhere.
Has she ruled out the possibility that perhaps he is just entertaining himself? I mean, yeah, he sounds like a lazy dude, but my husband and I can spend a whole evening laughing at craigslist ads. I don't know how anyone could take them seriously.
I agree with SD on this one. I also don't have a problem with porn, so looking at a few racy adds on an internet site wouldn't mean too much to me unless there were other problems.
I think I'd be pretty pissed off if Dazza had been watching porn all day instead of doing a tidy up around the place while I went to work. If I was coming home to a hot meal and a clean house though I'd probably ask him to show me what he'd found. ;)
I really don't mind the porn, but when he is looking at ads from women who are 10 or 20 miles away from where they live and "soooo horny" that just seems to be a different thing
Maybe I'm either too innocent, or too jaded, or both, but when I see a listing from a young lady who is so horny she's just dying to hook up with the first guy who replies to her personal ad, I assume it's bogus.

I think it's okay to look--in person. I mean guys always check out women. But perusing personal ads on the internet--it's a different story to me. From my personal experience, most of the guys who want to hook up over the internet are married. And it creeps me out.
And I have to admit maybe I'm a little sensitive on the subject due to MY daughter's marriage breaking up over a similar (but worse) issue.

I agree with both of you, Cloud I think porn is more like window shopping, and looking at a personal ad is more like actually getting ready to buy. LJ, she has pretty much said the same thing about BF, that the evil you know is better than the evil you don't know.

If craigslist bothers you, don't try ashleymadison.com, a personals web site that specializes in matching folks who are already married or in relationships, but are looking for a little bit on the side.

There is more explicit porn than Craigslist readily available. When you go to the personals ads on CL, you are looking for more than just pics, 99% of the time.
BTW, If you happen to be single and horny, CL works like you would not believe! I live in Arizona and sex out here is easier to find than SAND!!!

well, I dont know.....my girlfriend and I look at the personals on Craigslist all the time. Personally, I think they are funny as hell. We do it because we are bored. But honestly, the things people say in those ads are hilarious. Its funny what people will say to try and get a girl or a guy. The best are the "Men Seeking Men" ones. There you see ads like "Small Asian cock searching for large white cock"
