Great movie. It is a bit long. A classic.
Excellent movie. Hoffman has done a few really long, but really good movies. Little Big Man is another great one.

Awesome movie. This is one of the few things that Jinx is wrong about.
great movie, but it's hard for me to enjoy a movie when someone in the room isn't.
We ran into the same situation a couple months ago. I had seen it years ago, and wanted to see it again. My wife wasn't so sure. But she really liked it. Long movie, and slow at times, but that's really what makes it so good.
This is bizarre that this came up now, because I was thinking about Papillon just yesterday.
I was having the time of my life in the 70s. I wasn't interested in them then so those faded covers do nothing for me now.

Excellent movie..... Not as good as THE GREAT ESCAPE (1963) but still good....
