March 19, 2008: Yikes, Stripes!

From the Daily Mail, again.
Image
The Antarctic iceberg that looks like a giant humbug.
One of them looks like a giant mint humbug, with its clear blue, green and brown stripes. The other looks as if it has been shot through with a streak of spearmint.
These stunning banded icebergs - formed over hundreds, if not thousands, of years - were pictured floating in the waters of the Antarctic.

They look cool (no pun), but eating them would give you the worse case of brain freeze, evah.

Stripes are all the rage this year - for the fashion conscious beluga!

the first thought i had when I saw this picture was to wonder if it's an iceberg we wouldn't be seeing if temperatures weren't warming up.

It's certainly spectacular though.

nothing special - you can buy them in different colours and tastes

You're all wrong. Just a pair of undershorts left floating by President Taft many years ago. Multicolored skidmarks are from eating everything in sight.

Stripes make icebergs look fat.

I was just thinking "do these stripes make my ice look big?"

That is paint. Al Gore has been painting all the icebergs so he can track them for his next "i'm not running for president" documentary.
