Seriously dude. It has bugged me for years that people think that guy is funny. He seriously sucks at stand-up. I'm not a big fan of Doug Stanhope either, though he's occasionally funny.
Dingleschmutz • Mar 18, 2008 6:11 pm
Yeah, I end up hating people who like him, because they invariably get to the point where they can only converse with other people through Dane Cook quotes. I'd put some of them on here to make fun of, but I'm afraid I'd wear out my caps lock exclamation mark keys in quoting him.
Radar • Mar 18, 2008 6:49 pm
I honestly tried to like Dane Cook. I sat through an entire performance waiting for him to be the slightest bit funny but I never saw it. And this was a cable tv special so it's supposed to be his best stuff. I had 2 friends tell me how great he was. After watching him, I knew there was something wrong with my friends. I kind of knew already since they think it's unpatriotic to question the president or the not to support the war in Iraq. Normally this would disqualify anyone from being a friend, but I've known them for a very long time. Even still, I don't really talk to them anymore. We email every now and then. They've become more like acquaintances than friends.

Thanks for that Flint.

And I have an aggestion if you are tryin to make your life an uccess. K?
:)

Who is Dane Cook? Is he one of those guys who hangs out with that cable guy guy?
Dingleschmutz • Mar 19, 2008 12:49 pm
Dane Cook's the loud jackass whose entire sense of humor is based around telling a story that should take two minutes and dragging it out for 20 in a crescendo. It's what I imagine watching an attention-deficit retard with tourette's syndrome freak out on stage for an hour would look like. Watching Gallagher smash fruit is funnier.
Shawnee123 • Mar 19, 2008 12:51 pm
lol, gotcha. Never got the fruit smashing thing, either. :)

Thank you. I couldn't agree more. The fact that he has become popular is evidence enough that our nation is doomed.

You should watch the movie "Idiocracy". It's a comedy, but it's actually scary because it's so true.

Don't worry. When I'm dictator, I'm instituting a policy of summary executions for stupid people, in memorial to Bill Hicks. One of the tests used will be that anyone who laughs at the Dane Cook bit about the talking monkey driving the getaway van in a heist gets a bullet behind the ear.

So I just watched some of him on youtube. First thought: not funny punk-ass punk. Second thought: Kenny Bania from Seinfeld (Why do they call it Ovaltine? The jar is round, the mug is round, they should call it Roundtine.)

Yeah, yawn.

I'm sorry you'll never get your two minutes back :(

Lee Evans. One of the satellite comedy channels is devoting a whole night to him this weekend. I'm pretty easy-going but I'd refuse to accompany someone to a Lee Evans gig even if they threw in free dinner and drinks. Now there's not a lot of times I would turn that down.

Actually, thinking about it, as long as the free drinks were first I'd probably go anyway. Especially if we had sushi. Maybe I'm not easy-going after all, just easy.

A bit of the Lee for you - not technically stand up here, but representative of his stupid style.

I thought he was clever in the movie "Something About Mary", but his standup leaves a lot to be desired.

With all this band stand-up, here's some very good stand-up.
