I just got back from another vacation in Vietnam. Every time I go there I'm happy, and every time I come home I'm sad. I feel like a king over there. I grew up in Vegas, and even with the constant construction going on there, I've never seen as much construction as I did in Vietnam. There are so many tall buildings going up, so many cranes, etc. I can't believe it. I'm seriously considering investing there.

Anyway, my daughter (Nina) is now 9 months old. My heart was nearly broken because I missed her so much. My wife and daughter went to Vietnam 5 weeks ahead of me. I never want to be away from my daughter for that long again.

Nina has 2 teeth and can bite really hard. She can stand up by herself. She can say mama and dada or papa and knows what they mean. She kisses us when we ask her to. She knows how to clap her hands, to wave goodbye while saying "bye", to drink from a cup, to dance, and to make funny noises I've taught her (raspberries, etc.)

I took a few photos with my iphone while there, so I'll post some.

She's beautiful Radar. Looks like you with just a touch of mom... thanks for posting.

Looking at the pictures in succession, I laughed out loud when I saw one of her blowing a rasperry after the innocent one of her sitting on the floor.

What is the name of the blue garment she is wearing in pic one? The only word that comes to my mind is kimono, and I doubt thats right. It looks comfortable.

She is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

It's called a qipao. I call it her Chun-Li outfit. My wife's cousin sewed it together for Nina. I'm so proud of the raspberry. Daddy taught her how to do that. :)

Do you pronounce her name "neena" or "nine-a"? I've heard both. It's a great name.

very adorable baby, Radar. Nice work to you and mom (who is, btw, an amazingly beautiful woman---are you sure you deserve her? :D

If you love Vietnam so much I'm wondering why not move there? Or is that a dumb question? I'm serious: why not move?

The thought has crossed my mind a lot lately. Especially since their economy is growing at an astronomical rate. I can't do it until my mother is dead though or she'd fly to Vietnam and murder me in my sleep.

I love her eyes. They are hazel-green, but you can't tell in the photo.

Great, you want to invest in Viet Nam but are not willing to pay taxes in the US where you suck off of the tit of everyone of us. Maybe you should just move your ass there. Bye.
Radar • Mar 18, 2008 12:35 am
First, I am willing to pay taxes. I'm unwilling to pay INCOME taxes. There is a huge difference. Second, I earn 80k/year. I'm hardly sucking the tit of you or anyone else. Lastly, the money I earn is mine, and neither you, nor the government has any claim to any part of it.

Paying income taxes isn't patriotic, it's stupid. Supporting an unconstitutional war in Iraq isn't patriotic. That's stupid too.

What does any of this have to do with my beautiful daughter you thread jacker?

Can't you shoot a guy for barging into your thread? ;)

Thanks. I love her so much. She is so smart I can't believe it. Plus she loves daddy so much. She wakes up a few times every night and when she see's me she says "daddy daddy daddy" and she wants to play. When I go to work and close the door behind me, I can hear her cry. It kills me.

I don't know about that. I just think she likes me because I'm the first person she's ever seen other than the doctor. Also because I tickle her, hold her, talk to her, walk around with her, and give her belly raspberries. I'm sure she'll hate me later, especially when she's a teenager.

Also, for the record, I don't think I'm infallible; quite the contrary. I have failed more than most. It's these failures that have made me better understand the real world than most. I'm certainly not right about everything, but I am about most things, and always right when it comes to the Constitution. :)

Dude, if you're gonna make me feel all warm and fuzzy about you, I'm gonna revoke your license to be Radar.

Radar , i think u have a lovely girl and have every reason to be proud.
I know the things u talk about... And it always gets better. Laughter wont stop. The things they start saying and repeat, how they amaze us by doing or saying something we don't expect yet...
You seem to have a great family, enjoy it! ;)

She already does little things I don't expect. For instance, she loves it when I'm changing her diaper, to wait until I remove her old diaper, and when I'm reaching for the replacement diaper, to pee all over (usually on my bed). Yesterday when we were all getting ready in the morning (brushing teeth, showers, etc.) right after I finished my shower, my wife asked me to give Nina a bath. After I finished drying off from my shower, I gave Nina her bath. After drying Nina off, she pee'd all over me.

She has 2 very teeth and loves to bite my hand really hard when I'm playing with her. She used to only go to sleep for me, but now she'll only sleep for her mom. If she even knows I'm in the room she starts saying "Da Da Da Da Da" and smiles and starts crawling toward me. Last night it took forever to get her to sleep because she wanted to play so badly.

She can stand up confidently on her own. I know she'll be walking in the next few weeks. She's quicker than hell which scares me. She has fast hands and will grab anything with buttons and anything that lights up...cell phones...remotes...my computer keyboard...optical mouse, etc.

Something about the exposure to the air can trigger that, especially in boys. I found that getting the new diaper ready and unfolding it before taking off the dirty diaper cut down on that considerably.
Radar • Mar 26, 2008 4:56 pm
Hooray I'm free, it's time to pee!

How bout a nice "cool" breeze after being cramped up in all that warmth for hours?
