Who lives in San Antonio?

BrianR • Mar 15, 2008 2:40 am
I know there are active Cellar Dwellers in SA.

Step up! I'll be there around noon on Saturday the 15th. I should have time to buy lunch if you'll come out to meet me!

Don't be afraid, I don't bite.

Brian
BrianR • Mar 15, 2008 5:42 pm
Here until 8 o'clock tonight on the east side at the Petro truck stop.

Any takers?
skysidhe • Mar 15, 2008 7:22 pm
It was/is probably too short of notice.
BrianR • Mar 16, 2008 11:47 am
best I could do. For me, that was a LOT of notice, I never know where I will be day to day.

Tonight about 0400 I will be in Torrance (Los Angeles). I will probably be there tomorrow too.

But then? Dunno.

Brian
BrianR • Mar 17, 2008 1:59 pm
OK, now I'm in LA.

Where's Radar? I could use a couple of hot dogs right about now! With mustard and kraut!

Who else? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
classicman • Mar 17, 2008 8:44 pm
Wrong coast here bud.
Sheldonrs • Mar 18, 2008 3:06 pm
The thing that i liked most about San Antonio was the fact that just 3 blocks away from The Alamo, that great symbol of John Wayne-esque macho, is a gay bar/dance club. :-)

BrianR • Mar 19, 2008 10:35 pm

Let me know if you ever want to go south? ;-)
BrianR • Mar 20, 2008 2:20 pm
Sorry, I have my heart set on Jean-Claude Van Damme.
BrianR • Mar 24, 2008 5:13 pm
Lodi Ohio, anyone?

I'm here until Tuesday morning at 0900.

Any takers?

You live like a gorilla solider, never in the same bed twice.

You're getting closer....
BrianR • Mar 30, 2008 10:48 am
I sleep in the same bed every night. It's the location of the bed that changes.

Currently running I80 east to Omaha, then south on I29 to I70 east to Kansas City. ETA 2330 tonight.
xoxoxoBruce • Mar 30, 2008 5:11 pm
"On a long and lonesome highway, east of Omaha…”
BrianR • Apr 1, 2008 8:33 pm
Actually, the day before yesterday, I *was* east of Omaha, on my way from SLC to Peoria, IL. Snowing there too. I shut down in Laramie for the night due to poor visibility and slippery roads.

Brian

If you head South to Denver, let me know.
BrianR • Apr 2, 2008 2:16 pm
will do
BrianR • Apr 3, 2008 11:25 am
El Paso, TX.

Until next Wednesday at noon.

Come and get me!

I even buy lunch!
kerosene • Apr 3, 2008 11:29 am
I think Cloud lives there, doesn't she?
BrianR • Apr 3, 2008 5:03 pm
Yes, but she's shy, I think.
BrianR • Apr 30, 2008 12:04 pm
Springfield Ohio area anyone?

Stuck here all day, actually since yesterday afternoon. Will pay the check if you drive.
classicman • Apr 30, 2008 1:31 pm
how bout comin east? my sons are dyin to see an 18 wheeler up close...
BrianR • May 3, 2008 10:34 pm
where? I go east all the time: I just left NJ the other day!
BrianR • May 6, 2008 12:58 am
Omaha?
tw • May 6, 2008 3:45 am
Where in the world is BrianR? Sounds like a game.
BrianR • May 6, 2008 8:52 am
I thought I ran a thread with that title once but lost it. No one seemed to read it. Cellarites are harder to connect with than IRC people. I guess since the vast majority have jobs.
classicman • May 6, 2008 4:13 pm
I'm in Delco off two major roads - Pm for more details
BrianR • May 8, 2008 3:12 pm
I am rolling from Denver CO to Pierre SD via I 76 and US 83.

From there I head to Ocala FL. Using the shortest route via interstate, is there anyone along the way who can come out to say hi?

BTW, sorry Case, maybe next time!

Brian
kerosene • May 8, 2008 4:17 pm
No worries! Brighton is just damned heavy on the gas tank for me and my gas guzzling vehicle. Let me know when you are taking 70 out West.

And it was great talking with you yesterday!
BrianR • May 12, 2008 6:02 am
Ocala cancelled in West Memphis, AR. Off instead to Lima OH, then to Roseville, MN.

Any takers?
Clodfobble • May 19, 2008 10:36 am
It's true! BrianR really does drive a truck across the US bringing you people all your worldly goods. Last night, it was office supplies going to south Austin, and I had the chance to meet up with him before he headed down towards the Alamo. We had a lovely chat--but you'll have to take my word for it (and Brian's, if he doesn't deny knowing me :))because I forgot to bring a camera. Anyway, chalk up two more dwellars who have met in real life. Keep an eye out, he might be coming to your city next!
classicman • May 19, 2008 1:17 pm
Not sure if this is the right place to put this or not, but...
I had the distinct pleasure of meeting the one and only Lumberjim.
Long story made longer......
I have been looking for a car for a long time. Had to get the remaining financial mess from the divorce sorted out. With that done I began putting out feelers and checkin out what type of car I wanted. Jim was kind enough to keep an eye out for me. When something within my parameters became available, he let me know. Anyway - I got to go to his dealership and meet him in person.
It was real pleasure meeting him - so much so that I even brought my son as well. We, of course, have no pics, but I do have a nice new car that I am very pleased with.

Jim - Again, thanks a lot! You really came thru! I have to drive over there again just so we can take some pics.
sweetwater • May 19, 2008 2:08 pm
I'll be in Austin and San Antonio the rest of this week. Is there a minimum number of posts to qualify for F2F meetings w/Cellar Dwellers?
classicman • May 19, 2008 2:19 pm
yeah - 126. And you have to have posted your ssn and personal pics in the NSFW. There are rules ya know.
sweetwater • May 19, 2008 2:41 pm
:D A photo of my eyes would be NSFW now, or at least 'disturbing to some viewers'. After gouging my cornea cleaning the garden last Tuesday, one of my eyes is still a Christmas eye: red and green. Ouch.
BrianR • May 20, 2008 5:25 pm
No, there are NO criteria. At least for me. Some people are more picky.

I'm in El Paso for a week. Keep your eyes peeled.

Brian
BrianR • May 20, 2008 9:54 pm
Case, it was very nice meeting you, I so rarely get to meet anyone from the outside Philly area. Most often, they are at work or in bed when I go through.

And your little one is so CUTE! I wish I had more time, I would have dug out my old digital camera from a box in there, somewhere.

Anyway, another successful meeting, and she SURVIVED!

Who's next?
classicman • May 20, 2008 10:04 pm
no pics?
kerosene • May 20, 2008 11:42 pm
Hmmm? Thank you Brian, but I think you have me confused with someone else...I have not met you, yet. :)
BrianR • May 21, 2008 9:07 am
yep, posting off my sleep. I meant Clodfobble.

Hey, they both start with 'C'!

I've slept now, I'm back to "normal".
BrianR • May 22, 2008 11:30 pm
OK, EL Paso until Tuesday the 27th at noon.

Anyone? Anyone?
xoxoxoBruce • May 22, 2008 11:41 pm
If you get to Rosa's cantina, give my love to Felina. ;)
BrianR • May 23, 2008 8:33 am
OK. I did get to Capetto's, an Italian eatery who was impressed that I can eat like an Italian, namely two entrees, a loaf of bread, a bottle of wine (less one glass for the wife), dessert and two appetizers. OK, I only picked at the salad, but that is because I don't eat plants.

My wife has vowed to locate a Celentano's retail location before I come home again.
TheMercenary • May 23, 2008 8:53 am
Momma's Cafe in SA was to die for. I loved having a good breakfast there before work.
BrianR • May 28, 2008 6:34 pm
heading out of LA for Sacramento, should be there by midnight. Any night owls? I missed posting about the El Paso to LA trip, sorry! No time anyway!

I deliver at 1030 tomorrow, anyone for breakfast?
BrianR • May 30, 2008 9:14 am
Next trip.... Seattle to Bridgeton, MO (St. Louis area)

Gotta be there by morning June 3. Anyone? Anyone?
BrianR • May 31, 2008 4:03 pm
Belay my last... trip cancelled. Standing by in Lodi, CA until further notice.
busterb • May 31, 2008 5:23 pm
Stuck in old Lodi again.
BrianR • Jun 1, 2008 3:41 pm
Today only! One day only! Brian live and in person!

T/A west truck stop, Ontario CA!

I will autograph body parts for you for free!

I10 and Milliken.

Look for the crowd of admirers and the guy in a straw cowboy hat.
BrianR • Jun 2, 2008 10:37 pm
truck broke down. Now sitting in Fontana CA for two or three days. Come and get me!
BrianR • Jun 4, 2008 9:17 pm
I can hardly believe it...millions of people in LA, several of them from here, and NO ONE to visit me? Not even Radar?

I'm hurt!
classicman • Jun 4, 2008 10:41 pm
somebody go see Brian - He's all alone in the heat and dust and stuff...
BrianR • Jun 5, 2008 4:52 pm
Thank you Classicman.
classicman • Jun 5, 2008 7:31 pm
that was easy for me to say - I'm in Philly but the sentiment was there.
BrianR • Jun 8, 2008 12:20 pm
El Paso until further notice. Which won't come until sometime around the end of July.
xoxoxoBruce • Jun 8, 2008 3:38 pm
No truck? No loads? Vacation?
BrianR • Jun 8, 2008 7:52 pm
Left for better opportunities.

Big Brother was hiding in my truck and I got tired of him.
Plus, the electronic logging system has too many faults, bugs and inaccuracies for my taste. I prefer the old paper logs.

I'm looking for a local driving job...there's a cement plant nearby that pulls double dumpers. I'm going to talk to them tomorrow.
xoxoxoBruce • Jun 8, 2008 9:24 pm
Local? That means steady poontang in your own bed, too. Cool, good luck. :thumb:
kerosene • Jun 8, 2008 9:29 pm
Wow, good luck to you, Brian. I guess this means you won't be driving through Golden anytime soon!
BrianR • Jun 9, 2008 10:06 am
Case, you never know. I vacation in odd places, esp if I can sweet-talk the loved one into coming along. The dry mountain air might entice her.
kerosene • Jun 9, 2008 8:15 pm
It is quite dry here. Let me know if you ever get this way!

Let you know if he ever gets dry? That sounds personal.
BrianR • Jun 10, 2008 12:41 am
It also gets cold. I might be able to talk her into a vacation up there but never to live.
