"Look, I'm gonna be totally honest with you....." :headshake

"Really, I have no reason to lie to you...why would I?"

Usually followed by:

"I didn't lie...I never said I had NEVER murdered anyone."

"Cellar, really... it's not you, it's me. You're a great website, you will make some other poster very happy, but I am looking for different things, and frankly, we've grown apart."

(That sounds like a real Dear Cellar letter, doesn't it?)

If you smoke one cigarette, that doesn't make you a smoker. If you get drunk one time, that doesn't make you an alcoholic. But murder ONE person...

You know what I mean?
Shawnee123 • Mar 5, 2008 3:38 pm
I know, man...our society is all effed up! ;)

But, to fix your logic:

Saying "I don't murder" if you have murdered one person is a lie. Saying "I am not a serial killer" if you have murdered one person is the truth, if it really was an isolated slaughter.

That is such the true people never remember the good things about people like my distant cousin Joebob.

It is never Joebob who dug the well or Joebob who saved the flock from the storm.

It is all ways Joebob the goat fucker.

Bullshit's a dime a dozen, my friend. Its everywhere you go. People play games all the time. Take a look at NY Gov Eliot Spitzer: He's a man of high standards and impeccable morality...until now. He has had a dark side and now it shows. Look at the great lengths people go to pull BS on others.
Shawnee123 • Mar 11, 2008 3:05 pm
A dime a dozen...what? Are we talking weight, or do we measure by length, or perhaps by clump?

I need to know what my dime is going to.
Cicero • Mar 11, 2008 3:12 pm
Sounds more like my biblical proportion measurements.

The meaning and Origin of the 'cock and bull'

http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/cock%20and%20bull%20story.html

The first citation in English is from Robert Burton's The anatomy of melancholy, 1621:
"Some mens whole delight is to talk of a Cock and Bull over a pot."
Coaches between London and Birmingham changed horses in the town at two of the main coaching inns - the Cock and the Bull. The banter of the rival groups of travellers, from England's two largest cities, resulted in exaggerated and fanciful stories. The story is plausible but there's no real evidence to support it, although the two hostelries did, and still do, exist.
