MS Paint masterpeices... sort of...

So I'm new to the Cellar and want to see if any of you like to waste valuable time at work by making MS Paint images like I do. I work in a dungeon of a call center and use Paint to vent my feelings and frustrations... here are some of my examples:

What is that picture on the top of the three in a row? Could be interesting.
Flint • Jan 18, 2008 3:43 pm
Yes, I'm a sys admin and I do that. With MS Paint. Though mainly I make cartoons to taunt other people on the internet with. There's plenty of those around here. And also, little repetitively cut/pasted Op Art doodles. And sometimes pics grabbed from Google Image Search and messed around with.

The spongebob at the top was my favorite

Complete with the spumco-style gross close-up details!

That was really what sold me on it. Nail on the head, flint.

I demand photographic proof of how accurate your self portraits are. (I like dark hair and beards and I almost look like the girl in the pr0n.....)
monster • Jan 18, 2008 9:59 pm
...oooh, i just found it in the thread bombs.... verrreeee surly ;)

Flint, I really like this one with the aqua background.

This is how I decide how to color my tapecraft so adjoining colors don't match.

I must admit, that since the council decided to stop sending paper agendas and reports for scrutiny panel meetings and instead furnished the committee room with lots of laptops all loaded up with tyhe relevant materials....I have discovered the joy of MS Paint. I'm pretty sure that's not what i am supposed to be doing during meetings, but my God, some councillors can waffle! When there's just a bunch of people showboating about something not very interesting, MSPaint really takes the sting out of a meeting :P

I introduced my daughter to Paint awhile back here at work. She has only used a computer a few times at the library and a few times at my job. About a week ago I had her playing with Paint to occupy her and this is what she made, with no help from me at all. It's me! She's just a tad over 5 years old now.

That's awesome, Rat.

I wish I had time to dick around on the internet and paint too. Fu**.

I was once asked to draw a fart. This is what I came up with:

Bored at work this afternoon.
A little blurry from jpeg compression.
lumberjim • Feb 5, 2008 5:47 pm
what a Happy Barn....
xoxoxoBruce • Feb 5, 2008 6:13 pm
It looks happy now, but you should see it after dark with bats, owls, and spooks everywhere
monster • Feb 5, 2008 9:13 pm
It's not a barn -glatt missed a bit. it's really lj's car.
Flint • Feb 6, 2008 9:24 am
You're got a pretty bad leak, there, jumbo. What is that, blinker fluid?
glatt • Feb 6, 2008 9:35 am
Wrong color. I think it's that 710 fluid.
Flint • Feb 6, 2008 9:46 am
I was actually searching for blinker fluid.com's list of stupid sites but it looks like it doesn't get updated much anymore.

Good thing Kaleco Auto is now supplying high-quality synthetic blinker fluid, along with their classic kuhneutson valves and johnson rods.

Cool...I stumbled upon a "silk-screening" effect...another use for MS Paint's natural tendency to consider the color white a non-value. Now I can colorize black/white doodles by pasting them on top of flat color panels. At first I was just trying to eliminate stray black dots that were artifacts of the process that created the pattern. Now, I'm realizing that this can be done deliberately to replace white (or black, inverse) with a flat color. Not as fancy as swapping colors for gradients, or the other stuff I used to do with PSP or Adobe, but I'm having fun with the simplicity of Paint.

Now that I think about it, I could swap a black or white value for a gradient, or whatever, if I pasted it on top of one.

Actually, I was laid up after back surgery years ago, and couldn't do much, so I nuttsed around with an outdated Windows 3.1 computer donated to me. I couldn't do much, but I learned a lot about paintbrush. It became a hobby, and I still like to mess around with it.
lumberjim • Mar 24, 2008 12:16 am
paint.net is better than paintbrush, and way light. has a good bit more utility, but doesn't require a shit ton of photoshop skillz to use it. and...it's free.
