Lunch With a RL Dwellar

kerosene • Jan 15, 2008 7:01 pm
I had the fortunate opportunity to meet HLJ today for lunch at a great little Italian Restaurant called Bono's. Since he works close to where I live, it seemed like a great idea to meet up for a bite to eat. He was also gracious enough to bring his tablet PC so that I could play with the ArtRage program he has installed on it. I didn't have enough time to finish the painting this time, but perhaps next time I can finish it. (I hope there is a next time...as my incessant babbling may have scared the crap out of the poor guy.) Anyway, here are some pictures from the event.

See, even in the picture, I couldn't keep my mouth shut.

Excellent! :D

I promised I wouldn't post the painting until it's finished. Thanks for the drawing lesson Case. It was interesting to watch you paint.

I'm glad we finally got together for lunch.

Thank you for not posting it yet. I was a little off with it, since I am not use to the medium yet. Now I really need to get one of those!

Holy crap HLJ!!! You smiled :D

Great pics guys.

isn't it weird meeting someone from online...? it's like ....you have things in common....stuf to talk about...but it;s in such a whacked out frame of reference....like...why am i sitting here with this stranger, like i know him/her?

forks was pretty bizarre.....meeting syc and rho at the car show was totally strange.....

and yet....the few times i've gotten together with UT were relatively easy and natural...for me, at least...he may have been afraid for his life for that matter...

good to see bonds forming, anyway...thanks for the pics. you both look like freaks. ;)

I agree, Jim. UT it completely non-threatening and likeable. Very pleasant company, as are Jax and Katkeeper.

All I want is to be your friend.

so say we all.

is there any more noble pursuit?

When Sundae and I met up, we got on really well and it was dead comfortable. It's strange because it's like on the one hand this is the first time you've met this person, but on the other hand you already know them quite well :P

Great pics guys. And that drawing is awesome case.

Yes, it was like that, Dana. If someone had asked me how I met HLJ, I would have to say "on the interwebz." But, really, it seemed like I already knew him in real life.

Thanks on the picture. I am definitely not finished with it.

Yes, I am a freak. It's confirmed. I don't think HLJ is, though. Just a victim of circumstance.

Yeah!!!

I'm glad to see more meetups. Wish there were more regular Dwellars in my neck of the woods.

Guess I'll just have to save up my lunch money for plane tickets...

when I went hunting a few years ago in TX with Phlthjnx , it was like 2 old friends meeting ,
Though I did tell him , "I drove( insted of flying) down here JUST incase IRL you turned out to be some NeoNazi Skin Head or some such ", his responce was "why do you think I brought 6 friends with me "
classicman • Jan 16, 2008 2:26 pm
Thats really funny - good story zip!
Cicero • Jan 16, 2008 7:35 pm
Well they look like they know each other! Look they have the same sideways smile!
:)
How fun!!
Aliantha • Jan 16, 2008 8:34 pm
maybe they're related but just haven't put the pieces together yet?
Razzmatazz13 • Jan 16, 2008 11:19 pm
Well, I *really* hope they're not putting their pieces together if they're related...
kerosene • Jan 17, 2008 10:23 am
Geez, you guys...it was just lunch...not a twisted family reunion.
Sundae • Jan 18, 2008 10:17 am
Great you two!
I'm still planning on winning millions and paying for everyone's travel to a Dwellar party - but until then I'm happy when others manage to get together. No forming cliques now!
