Yes! The Patriots - Giants game will be seen by all

...as opposed to being shunted to the NFL Network. That way the whole country will see how The NY Giants humble an undefeated team, the way The Dolphins could not.

1) Still going to the bar, as Pitt-Dayton is on at the same time, and I don't trust myself to have the discipline to flip between the channels at a steady rate.

2) db, if you jinxed this for us, so help me God I will find you. Spin around three times, spit, and knock on wood right-bloody-now.

must have loss...

That's not gonna be enough, sorry. Cash, on the other hand,...

Why the hell would someone wanna watch a meaningless game like this for? The race for 1st round 2nd pick in the upcoming draft is for a greater purpose.

To watch the Pats win.

Anybody who enjoys watching the Patriots win, is out for a very disapointing season.
No one will remember this 2007-2008 team as anything special, as the patriots will not succeed.
classicman • Dec 27, 2007 10:34 am
Ok then, to watch the Pats lose.

But its meaningless!

 Its all about perception.

When you'll be watching the Pats, I'll be watching Penn State beat Texas A&M. Now THAT will be a game!!
LJ • Dec 27, 2007 10:49 am
NFL DOT COM still shows it as being on NFL network.....what other channel is carrying it?
classicman • Dec 27, 2007 11:30 am
Game for All to See
classicman • Dec 27, 2007 11:31 am
More importantly, look at this:

from article wrote:
But lawmakers have pressured the NFL to ensure more viewers could see the game. Last week, two prominent members of the Senate Judiciary Committee sent a letter to Goodell threatening to reconsider the league's antitrust exemption.

Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., who co-wrote the letter with Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., said he was "delighted" by the NFL's concession.

I'm pleased that our congressmen are spending their time on stuff like this. Oh, wait. I'm not pleased.
classicman • Dec 27, 2007 12:04 pm
Thanks for pickin up on that Glatt - I was wondering if I was the only one.
LJ • Dec 27, 2007 12:06 pm
I'd rather have them doing this kind of thing than fucking around trying to make new laws or something.
classicman • Dec 27, 2007 12:07 pm
Cock!

Sports fans, in large part, are motivated by the "I was watching" factor. "I was watching when the Sox came back." "I was watching when Messier delivered on his guarantee." "I saw Norwood go wide right." So on and so forth.

Penn State vs. Texas A&M will probably be a good pure football contest, but its potential for a memorable game - regardless of regional interest - is far less than that of Giants-Pats. Penn State and A&M fans will carry the memory of that game after it's over, but due to the smaller stage they're playing on, it's unlikely many others will.

Besides, it won't be like Purdue/Central Michigan. Now that was a game!

My Thoughts...

Patriots cover Big time in this game. Show the "World" just how good they really are. In front of everybody they will show why they not only will win this game but also the Super Bowl.

W.HI.P what do you think of this? When I saw this article this morning in the newspaper I had an extra sip of Coffee and just thought to myself "LONG TERM BETS"
W.HI.P • Dec 28, 2007 1:50 pm
Mac, I know your logic behind it, and its very possible.
IMO though, I don't think they really need to do anything at all to assure that the remanding money is wagered on the Pats.
Cover/Win/Lose won't make a difference.
Pats win the AFC semi final impressivley just under the spread.
Pats lose in the AFC final against the Chargers or the Colts.
In the end....Everyone looses their money.
Except for me of course.
My money's been on the Chargers and Colts since week 1.
deadbeater • Dec 29, 2007 11:41 pm
Well, the Pats showed why they just might be champions, one more time. Congrats to them.
classicman • Dec 30, 2007 12:23 am
They looked purdy good in the win too. Playoffs should be interesting this year. There are a few good teams out there in both conferences.
SteveDallas • Dec 30, 2007 10:55 am
It was a great game, but the announcers' "Awww look at the cute lil Giants trying to play ball with the Patriots" attitude kind of grated.
classicman • Dec 30, 2007 11:36 am
Yeah they were rather condescending
deadbeater • Jan 21, 2008 8:51 pm
At least the Giants will get the Cheaters back.
lumberjim • Jan 22, 2008 1:05 am
i hope they tie.
classicman • Jan 22, 2008 8:49 am
I hope they tie and go into so many overtimes, they finally decide the winner by a shoot-out with field goals - lol.
wolf • Jan 22, 2008 6:22 pm
I just hope the commercials are worth it this year.
