Secret Santa - The Gifts

DucksNuts • Dec 11, 2007 4:41 am
Thank you, thank you...THANK YOU!!! to my secret santa :D

My gift arrived today and I opened it as I will be on the other side of Australia for Christmas.

The whale penis box had me giggling and a bit apprehensive about how I was going to explain the gynormous penis necklace I was wearing.

Image

But I loved the gift :D

Image

Have them on now

Image

Thanks again.

Sorry I didnt wait to open it, but as I said, it will probably be New Years before I opened it otherwise.

Apologies for the pic quality, they are off my phone.

Is this where I should post? I hope so, or else, someone can kiss my ass...I don't really care who...

Anyway, here goes...

I received this package from Fedex today, much to my surprise. I removed the card attached to the top and this is what it said:
Image

Inside:

Image

When I opened the box, I was STUNNED to see the following:

Image

So, with caution, I proceeded...gently. (for those who can't see the edges it says "Yar, there be COCKS here!") Indeed there was not just one cock...

Image

...but two!

Image

I am not sure what they are made of, but they are hard as ceramic...and I think they are designed for something light and either salty or peppery comes out of them when I shake them a lot.

Thank you for giving me 2 cocks, secret santa. I will take care of them and use them often.

The next thing I discovered was:

Image

There was a little note on the back, that I didn't discover until after I took the photos. It says: "You must have a finely tuned BS meter to survive in The Cellar! Practice makes perfect."

But that wasn't all. There was one more gift:

Image

There was a note on the back of this one, too, but I am afraid that if I share it, my secret santa will be revealed. Perhaps one could determine the source of these great gifts by interpreting their meanings? Hmm?

Image

Thank you so very much, Secret Santa. :cheese:

Have been without a laptop for a while, so just signing in quickly to say my present arrived, and was opened yesterday (didn't want to take on public transport as my bag was heavy enough!)

Took pics all through the opening process and will post when back home. I received:
A really funky snowman ornament with blue sparkly glitter on it - I wish I'd opened it earlier when I saw it because it's so "me", it's on the tree now and will be every year from here on in. And two beautiful soaps which made the whole box smell gorgeous. And the handwritten message in the card made my eyes go a little blurry - it was so very kind.

Thank you my secret Santa, and no - I don't know who you are! Except that I don't think you have your location under your name on here, as the postmark was Tennessee (spelling?) and I don't remember seeing any Dwellar having that. Apologies if you have it up there bold as brass and I've just missed it!

Nice mug! I want one like it.
Sundae • Dec 24, 2007 4:29 pm
I am jealous of the mug (as an addition to my present, not as a replacement I mean)

Then again I contemplated asking Case for a lay-away scheme (ie sending a few quid each month until I own it) for the picture with the hair. I don't have the $ but I do have a craving for beautiful and original art.

It's very nice. Who did the artwork? I'm having trouble reading the signature (Lenny, Jenny, Young).

I'm waiting to frame it. It's 8.25 x 12 inches instead of 8x10 or 8.5x11, so I might have to trim it before framing.

I'm concerned that my giftee hasn't posted yet.
Sundae • Dec 25, 2007 3:40 pm

Well I'm looking forward to seeing the one I bought. This was my second choice gift. The first was a truly amazing (and cheap) MP3 player/FM radio/Voice Record combination that accepts SD cards in addition to it's scanty 128MB internal memory. I bought one at the QVC outlet and it's my favorite so far. It looks cheap, so I don't fear leaving it on a lounge chair while I hit the pool, but it has great sound (has built in equalizer) and accepts a 1GB card with no problem. So even including a $15 1GB SD card, the player would cost me less than $25. Even if someone did steal it, it's better than losing a $200+ Ipod.

The Emerson MP205, unfortunately, was no longer available at the QVC outlet store and I could not find it on-line. The one I got was less than $10 during their store sale, so I should have bought a few when I had the chance.

My 3rd choice was a Swiss army knife knockoff.

The 2nd choice was the one I went with. It's similar to something I own, but I used an on-line merchant I never used before, which is why I was worried. It's custom made, so I would love to see a picture of how it turned out.

I hate NM. Well, the supposed post office. This happened last year and caused a huge fight between me and my mom...I should not have participated knowing that I might not receive a present because my house has been there for over 300 years and no one can seem to find it, outside of the fact it's probably at least 8000 square feet and doubles as a historical site. It has 2 addresses and people can't seem to find one of them. Sorry SS I will try to track this package.....

Ok, I can't wait any longer.

Some of you may remember that I went to Venice Beach last year and got a necklace with names on a grain of rice,

The lady who sold me my necklace did not have exactly what I wanted, so I went to a different site.

I got a beaded keychain with a capsule containing 2 grains of rice. I was limited to 10 characters x 2 sides x 2 grains.

I asked them to write:

I asked Tony for the tag file, but I could not find any taglines that fit the format.

I'd like to see a picture of how it turned out.

I just found out something, and I don't know who specifically to thank, but I am overwhelmed by someone's kindness.

I decided not to participate in SS because funding has been so bad this year. Homeless Guy is starting a new job TODAY, and I am hoping for relief, but I didn't want to sign up for SS and have to slack off on getting someone something they would enjoy.

(This post is going to seem a bit disjointed but I am sort of shy about these kinds of things.)

Well, I took last Wednesday I took the day off. Someone knocked on my door. It was Mr Fed Ex. After I stopped hearing the pron music in my head, I signed for the package.

I opened it and inside was a digital camera and a memory card. I've been wanting a camera for a very long time, but didn't think I'd mentioned it to anyone in my family. But I called Mom and asked my ex-husband and nobody was taking credit.

A birdy told me today that it was someone or someones from the Cellar. I don't even know where to begin to thank you. What a nice, wonderful thing for someone to do. Of course I, as is my way, feel slightly embarrassed and undeserving, I'm never good when people do nice things for me. That is selfish, I know, for me not to let someone feel good about doing something nice...so I'm working on that.

You can't possibly know how happy you've made me. I've taken a few pics of my cats and need to get them onto my work computer so I can share. I also can't wait to take some pics of the wildlife on the river this spring. I will have to do a house tour, too, once I've figured it out.

So thank you thank you thank you. Your kindness reminds me of all the good in the world, and reminds me how good it feels to be the recipient of such a selfless act.

Whoever you are, I am deeply indebted. I wish I had known for sure it was a Dwellar earlier, and I hope you don't think I was being ungrateful...just afraid to say anything for fear of looking stupid.

In all the seriousness I possess, I thank you and wish you many happy returns from people paying your kindness forward.

Shawnee :)

Yes, this SS was a bit naughty regarding the limit, but I think in the circumstances they can be forgiven.

Shawnee, some people wanted to participate but did not want to receive gifts, so we had to find a few extra names to whisper in Santa's ear.

I've been enjoying my SS gifts for quite some time now, but my unreliable wifi connection has kept me from posting the goods...here they are, at last.

Image

Sunburnt Country-Stories of Australian Life is completely fascinating, and I'm about a third of the way through. I almost didn't want to use the coasters, which have beautiful graphics and made me hesitant to risk staining them, but I did break two in so far. They are very resilient.

I haven't quite figured out how to use the Biters yet, but my cat sure has. I have to make sure to keep the container closed so he doesn't pick them out on the sly. The little note that came with them says that purchasing them supports The Lighthouse Foundation.

Thanks very very much, Secret Santa!!

monster • Jan 11, 2008 1:16 pm
What i want to know (for scientific purposes only) is

1) have you imagined LJ lovingly knitting it an measuring it for size every now and again?

2) have you tried it on on the significant cock in your life, or is it a stiffed cock? In which case.....

When I addressed my gift to "Cellar Dweller" I was a little nervous about the Post Office delivering it, until I realized that they really don't make assumption from the name. I think the 'or current resident' on junk mail is intended more for the recipient than the post office.

Then I was nervous after reading about the snow and ice storms down in OK.

Cicero • Jan 21, 2009 4:15 pm
My SS was a bitch to me. I am declining next year. Believe it. Seriously.....SS's shouldn't have lab send me secret bitch pm's. That's so over.

The fact that we should just get along is over too. You have outdone yourself this time.

I don't need Santa to talk about my personal life as if I'm screwed and send secret pm's through lab. You are no Santa Lady....

Remember: It's the thought that counts, and remember how thoughtless you were.

That really irritates me.

My SS gave me a kick in the kisser. I'm over it...but what you did is not in the spirit of giving.
Cicero • Jan 21, 2009 4:28 pm
Bump...I want you to see this............
Aliantha • Jan 21, 2009 4:43 pm
I assume your message is for me.

What's the problem? I sent PM's through LR because it's supposed to be a secret. I don't recall saying anything personal about you other than that you had lots of things on your plate at the time SS's were being recieved so it might not have been a priority for you or something like that and I also suggested that LR should inform you that your SS was international because the postage is a lot higher so I wanted to be sure to get it to you properly the second time around.

Sorry if that upsets you, but I was just trying to get your gift to you.

There was never any bitchy intent at all other than the fact that I was frustrated when the gift was returned as not deliverable.

Can you please ask her to sort out the correct address so that I am ensured of not wasting another $25?

Thanks,

Trish.

PS. Maybe she needs to be told that her SS is from overseas.

I sent her a PM letting her know that her gift from an overseas SS was returned undeliverable. I will likely be off the Cellar for a few days while I am out of town, we can sort this out then.

Have a great Christmas, talk to you in a few!

Leah

Then:

Hey Cic,

Just wanted to forward on the message I got this morning in my inbox.

I'm really not sure what to do at this point, I don't want your SS to spend more $$ on shipping, but I don't want you to be left out either... Ack.

I am likely going to be off the Celler for a few days becasue I will be out of town starting this afternoon. We can sort this out then.

Hope you and your 'puppy', (who's not so puppy sized anymore!!) have a good Christmas !

Say hi to val for me

Leah

After a bit of research I have found out what my mail issues are, and they can send it back, cash on delivery.

It isn't that I "don't care". I had trouble receiving anything at all at the old addresses. The new address:

Address removed

I received something there just fine the other day. I gave them the addresses I had and if 2 addresses don't work, that's postal.

Of course they don't have to send it. It is the thought that counts after all!

I hope you and yours had a Merry Christmas!!
Marta (Cicero)

I will leave the decision up to you, Ali. Let me or Cic know though.

Hope you new year's was good

Leah

Then:

G'day Leah,

I'll send it again tomorrow or if not, very early next week. I should be going somewhere near a PO tomorrow though. I'd like to get it to Cic as soon as possible. Let her know not to worry about a COD delivery. I'm happy to send it again as long as it's going to get there. It'll probably take a couple of weeks to arrive though at this stage I'd say...possibly a little longer.

Cheers,

Trish.

I will let her know asap. Thank you for trying again, hopefully there won't be any problems this time!

Leah

So that's it. If there's a problem with how I've communicated then so be it. I thought I'd done everything I could to make sure you got your gift.

I'm sorry if I didn't try hard enough or did something to upset you. My intention was only ever to get your gift to you.

Also, sorry to LR for posting the contents of PM's here, but I'm sick of he said she said type arguments and I'm not going through any more of that shit.
Cicero • Jan 21, 2009 5:06 pm
Oh.......that. When I was told I was unconcerned?
Ali..........I am f'ing shaking my head.

I will receive gifts cash on delivery. I talked with a postal service employee about it...Next time do not spend a dime on me. Srsly...

"I'm a bit unhappy about it to be honest. She didn't seem like she really cared about whether she received it or not and I can understand that she's got other stuff on her mind atm. My issue is with the expense of postage."

Oh and, seek approval before you reveal pm's next time.....
Aliantha • Jan 21, 2009 5:13 pm
Whatever Cicero.

If you don't think it's fair that I was a little bit annoyed at the gift being returned after double checking what address to use in the first instance then fine. I was given two addresses initially for you, and I asked LR to check which one I should send it to. I followed those instructions even though I had a feeling something would go wrong, so imagine my surprise when a month later, the gift I'd sent you was returned. lol Oh sorry, imagine my lack of surprise.

What a joke this is. You're not the only one who'll be opting out of SS next year.
Cicero • Jan 21, 2009 5:51 pm
Actually. I won't be. Usually people are really good about it.

I enjoy giving little heart's desires............

I have changed my mind.

I'm a good Santa.........My recipients always say that. ;)

I do my research.

I am taking this discussion out of this thread. I said what I had to say........I will say whatever else I have to say elsewhere.

I'm glad everyone else enjoyed their gifts!! I hope everyone's New Year is also working out, and I am sorry for screwing around in this thread. I just had to send someone a message and I am done.

Sorry guys.

Rich,

I was your SS this year, I'm sorry that I can't get you a gift. When I signed up to SS this year, I forgot that tuition comes due dec/jan becauselast year I wasn't in college at this time, so no huge bill, and twice the hours at work. I really wanted to do something nice for you but I ran out of time and money, so I left you the message about possible delays, because I was hoping I'd be caught up a little quicker than I have been, but as they're "letting people go" and cutting hours more at work, it doesn't look very good at the moment. I know LR picked me for you because you got screwed last year with Mockingbird not exchanging with you, and I'm sorry to have continued that bad luck for you this year.

I hope you understand.

Razz, I understand completely. As I said when you mentioned it the first time, I really don't think any trinket is important enough. When you said that you were going to participate, I was more afraid that something was sent and lost in the mail.

Last year I never got any feedback from my SS recipient. I always wondered if my gift got there.

My comment was simply a statement and not a criticism. Please do not take it as one. I'd actually feel better if we considered SS closed for the year. It was the not knowing that made me comment.

I'm very sorry you had to post without the anonymous account. Take care of yourself this year.

BTW, I got my gift last year. It was a very nice drawing. The issue was I never knew if my gift was received.

Not really, I'd assumed that it was lost in the mail. It was more about not knowing than anything.
