Frankly, I'm more disturbed by the disembodied flying baby head.

:lol2:

I wonder if they did this deliberately. It could work in two ways: either subliminally triggering interest with a bit of sly sexual innuendo, or causing a conscious WTF? PENIS MAGAZINE? reaction and thus causing people to look again. Or maybe both.
I have been exposed to media marketing through some friends in the business, doing this deliberately is not out of the question. The eye-catcher on the front cover is crucial in getting the sales at the supermarket checkout queue.
Which reminds me of my favourite cover lead:
"Feng Shui your handbag". I didn't buy it.

If it wasn't deliberate, I'm guessing that the baby's head won't be the only one flying through the air

It's old. (still funny, though)

Erm... I'm betting photoshop, myself. Floating baby head and the "feed a picky eater" dot have been moved.

Yes, and completly inconsistent with previous issues -they rarely obscure any of the title.

It is a Photoshop, and was created by Panopticist.

Snopes also has a copy of the real April 2005 cover.
