English or math?

Spexxvet • Sep 26, 2007 9:56 am
SATs are broken into separate "English" and "Math" scores. List a Cellarite, and predict whether they scored higher in English or Math. I'll start another thread where we can post the answers.

you're weird, Spexxvet.

I can't remember my scores, but I can for sure tell which one was higher.
freshnesschronic • Sep 26, 2007 10:11 am
I took the ACT, yeah the Midwest stands alone.
Spexxvet • Sep 26, 2007 10:16 am

I took the ACT
Cloud • Sep 26, 2007 11:37 am
wussies. I took the SATs, the ACTs, AND AP History and English.
theotherguy • Sep 26, 2007 12:14 pm
Oh, I also took AP History and English. I don't even think we were offered the SAT
DanaC • Sep 26, 2007 12:22 pm
Hmm. They've introduced SAT tests for our youngsters which they take at various times through their education (I think they take them two or three times at different levels) but our main 'High school' exams are the GCSEs.

I was never very good at maths. I took my maths O'level the year before the system changed to GCSEs. That meant I took it a year early. Our maths teacher didn't want us to be the guinea pig year so persuaded us to do two years' work in one and sit o'levels instead. I passed but only got a C grade (reasonable pass)

English I got A grades in Lit and Lang.

I can't remember what I took but I know i didn't take it seriously.

but, yeah; I'm one of those English people. Me flunking English would be unpossible.

I'm not hurt at having missed the first cut of the thread, but I *am* curious as to how you'll sort me.

Big V - English

I'm totally not a math dude. I mainly use an "8-based" system.
SteveDallas • Sep 26, 2007 2:59 pm
May I ask what the point of this thread is?

Sure.
SteveDallas • Sep 26, 2007 3:45 pm
What is the point of this thread?

(If it doesn't have one, that's cool. I'm just curious.)

Ever since you lost your pinkies in that fishing accident?

It's really just for fun. People tend to be better at math or english, art or science, in my field it's lab or dispensing. I thought it would be fun to guess what everybody is, and the only "universal" measure I thought of was SAT scores.

Here is a far more universal index, though I leave its application as an exercise for the student.

I frankly don't remember the components of my SAT score. I'm curious now, and I may actually look it up. But I think your guess is wrong.
Clodfobble • Sep 26, 2007 5:48 pm
So when is it time to start posting answers?
BigV • Sep 26, 2007 5:48 pm
any time. there's a whole other thread for answers. Saves using spoiler text formatting.
Spexxvet • Sep 26, 2007 6:34 pm
Everybody else is welcome to guess each others' results. This isn't just my game.
TheMercenary • Sep 26, 2007 10:07 pm
Math. Totally.
HungLikeJesus • Sep 26, 2007 11:37 pm
I'd put UG, SG and DanaC in the English category.

I think Flint could go either way.
Clodfobble • Sep 26, 2007 11:39 pm
I'm guessing Spexx was English.
Urbane Guerrilla • Oct 11, 2007 12:13 am
Tw had to be math -- his English... ain't. Not in print.
