Two days ago a fark image, today a K5-sourced image. This one is from Buenos Aires, a picture of a toaster that's actually made out of pieces of toast! It took over 2500 pieces of toast to "paint". You can see the construction here; the thing is tall enough to require the artists to stand on ladders to build it.

All I can say is... pass the butter.

that is SO awesome. i always find those picture mosaics really neat. like the portraits of people made out of other little pictures of people...you know what i'm talking about, right? that's so neat.

In a somewhat related field, Chuck Close is one of the better-known artists in the Photorealism field.

What's fascinating is that he reinvented himself after becoming a quadraplegic in 1988. Check out this link that shows off his newer style. I dig it...combines old and new school styles.

As i type this i am looking at my poster of bob marley, constructed as a 'mosaic' of all his old pictures and record discs.

I have also seen yoda and the beatles like this.

www.photomosaic.com is on the bottom, cost about 6.00 GBP.

Would like a poster sized of the toaster too.
