SEPTEMBER 11--Meet Carlton Davis. The Minnesota man, 26, is facing felony charges for allegedly stealing a cell phone and purse from a woman he mugged on a St. Paul street early Saturday morning. According to police, after the woman turned over her belongings, Davis announced, "Now I'm going to suck your feet." Which he did, after the 24-year-old victim removed her shoes. Davis, who fled when passerby approached, was apprehended by cops a few blocks from the crime scene. He was booked into the Ramsey County lockup, where the below mug shot was snapped.

On Thursday, Tom DeLay reported to the Harris County sheriff's office in Houston to post bond and get fingerprinted. DeLay also posed for a mug shot. The photograph shows a face-forward DeLay grinning; it doesn't show him in profile or holding a placard of identifying numbers. Is this happy-go-lucky photo a real mug shot?
Yes, though advances in technology have made mug shots pretty much indistinguishable from normal photographs.

I remember watching this thing on discovery channel about prisons or something and it said some prison wings were separated by race. Now doesn't this preach segregation and gang hatred and lead to violence between the groups? The concept is beyond me.

(Almost) Nobody gets reformed in prison, so they just try to limit the blood letting.

It's like the pen is recruiting for I dunno, the Panthers, Neo Nazi clan and Latin Kings.
Like normal criminals enter, then get hazed by their segregated ethnic wing and if released have a worse mindset than when they were put in.

I'm not sure, but I think the inked-up guy might have some issues.

The inked up guy escaped recently. It was in the news. Killed his guard after wrestling his gun away from him. He was being escorted out of prison for medical treatment by the guard, and made his move. Got away and the manhunt lasted a day or two, if I recall correctly. He called his girlfriend crying and asking what to do and she convinced him to turn himself in. He claimed he didn't mean to kill the guard.

I don't like him.

I think his girlfriend should find a new boyfriend.

My guess is that she is his girlfriend, but that he is not her boyfriend. Likely, he is some other fellow's girlfriend.

I remember reading about his escape. I think the manhunt was in Utah, because I remember wondering how he could not be spotted.

I was gonna put a "Don't tase me, bro!" tattoo on that guy's face, but I couldn't stand to look at it long enough to even get started.

Sorry, no. Just going off my memory of the news coverage. I wouldn't be surprised if you could find his mugshot over at the Smoking Gun to get his name, and then do a Google news search on his name to get the details of the story.

Police must love tattooed crooks. Well, love them for getting tattoos. Oh you know what I mean.

Most intoxicated celebrities have the worst mugshots ever.

Especially Nick Nolte, James Brown, and Pee Wee Herman. I would have included Rip Torn in the list, but he looks kind of used up under the best of circumstances.

Nick Nolte's is one of my favorite.

I always imagine that once they get old the skin will wrinkle until the tattoo that said 'IM A TOTAL BADASS' says something like 'MARTHA GET MY MEDS'

I don't know. I thought about getting one on the back of my neck that said, "If found please return to:" then my address. That would actually be helpful when I pass out drunk somewhere. Unfortunately, I move too much.

It would be helpful when you get old, too, in case you wander off somewhere. But yeah, you'd have to be living in the same place.
