What are you indifferent to today?

Flint • Sep 7, 2007 3:57 pm
We have What's upsetting you today? and What's making you happy today?, but isn't 99% of your life filled with mundane monotony that hits you like water off a duck's back, or simply goes in one ear and out the other? If you can muster the necessary energy for a few keystrokes... oh nevermind.
Cloud • Sep 7, 2007 4:18 pm
now you're making fun of me (pout).

You just want EVERYTHING in our minds, don't you? Well, you can't have it. Nope! I say! too much diahrrea of the mouth and fingers anyway.

Flint • Sep 7, 2007 4:25 pm
I'm indifferent to everything on my desk, except the window running The Cellar, and the calendar that says it's Friday.

I don't get it. I don't know what you're referencing.

Oh, I'll get it one way or the other. I'm like Santa Clause. Except when I come down your chimney, you eat my package and I leave an ass of milk.

I could care less about most popular music, television, movies and fashion. Though how most of it is marketed is harmful.

I don't give a shit what stars/sports figures do on their free time.
They are NOT role models.
As long as they are acting or winning games, that is what they are getting paid to do.
Someone took a pic of her cooch, someone fucked a tree... BFD... *yawn*... did they win the game, did they hit their mark and say their line well?
limey • Sep 8, 2007 5:36 pm
totally indifferent to the fun, nonsense threads in the Cellar

also to what "famous" people do in their spare time/personal relationships

I am indifferent to my job today. I. Don't. Care. About. Any. Of. It. This is why my resume is off to a better job, this afternoon.

It was a long time ago, and I was crabbing about my job, and you (in your supremely wise and nonsensical way) said to go for a change...only I can do that...etc! :)

Well it's true! It would appear I give good advice then. :)

Went clubbing tonight, for the first time.

Snuck out - mom was in bed, dad was out at dinner. Me and a bunch of girls (who met in the apartment downstairs) were in the elevator leaving... the door opens on ground floor and, who else is standing there but... poppa. I freak and make myself as small as i can possibly be and somehow, miraculously, he doesnt see me. The girls, thinking fast, mumble something about forgetting a person while trying to hide me as best they can. After practically an eternity... the door closes without him getting in. It goes back up, i race upstairs to my apartment and crawl into bed in case he saw me or suspected me or something. I hide there for a minute - nothing. His door closes at the end of the hall - I race outside again. Totally in the clear.

Clubbing itself was both uneventful and unexciting. Listened to a lot of shitty music, moved around a lot in some semblance of dancing, had a brain damage and some of my friend's whiskey and ginger ale, eventually got tired of not talking, dancing badly, and just kinda sitting around awkwardly on my ass, I just kinda took off. I dont think theyve even noticed i've gone yet...

clubbing just isnt my thing i guess.

Am indifferent to the live basketball HM is watching (Boston vs Minnesota). It's actually happening a mile down the road in the 02 dome, but he doesn't have tickets.

I'm not interested enough to watch, not annoyed enough to take the laptop upstairs.
DanaC • Oct 11, 2007 5:05 am
Am indifferent to the shitty emails I got this morning from a fellow party member (one of 'the internal enemy') in response to a 'postponed committe meeting' group mail I sent out. Was feeling a bit upset by them when I opened my mail at 7am: sent back a measured response, got a mouthful in reply; sent out a slightly more curt but still measured response and got a diatribe. Am now feeling fairly sanguine about the whole thing. The guy's a pain in the ass but clearly has no control over his emotional responses. Sucks to be him. Anyway...since he responded by just pressing 'reply' to what started out as a group email, he inadvertently sent his reply to the whole group *chuckles* now three people are writing complaint letters to the regional organisers about his 'uncomradely behaviour'. :P

And the day goes on.

Ha Haaa! People at my work do that constantly. They don't know how to use Microsoft Office e-mails or any e-mailing services, and inadvertantly send inflammatory e-mails to the whole company.......Usually it's because they've chosen to pick on a new person to the company, and everyone gets to see what a dick they are. This happens so much that you would think people would resist that urge and also learn how to use their e-mail. But they just don't. Social Darwinism and how it relates to technology?
Maybe if you don't know how to use e-mail yet, you cannot afford to be a flaming asshole. One of the major offenders at my work doesn't know that he left 2 albums of the go- go's on the company shared drive.....lol!!! Idiot. Nothing is wrong with the go go's. The fact that he thinks he secretly listens to the go go's is the funny part.

Dana just laugh....and don't tell him that he has sent it to everyone. He probably doesn't even know yet. Like the major offender at my work.

Once someone dislikes me I am truly indifferent to them. I have compassion/empathy for them in a general "humanity" kind of way, but as for their feelings and what they want... I do not think of it in any way at all.
I realized this again yesterday.
A guy that goes to the library that decided he disliked me for a reason I cannot remember (another symptom, I forget everything about them immediately) started to talk to me and I just ignored him.
I was polite, but told him that if he insists on trying to argue with me he needs to leave me alone. I really don't care what he thinks or feels.
I sometimes forget how complete this is for those I include and exclude in my life.

Am indifferent to the other swim team cheating tonight. It makes me go ??? because they didn't need to -they out numbered us so badly that even if all out kids took all the top spots, they'd still have won. And.... the kid they cheated with (that we know about) was one of ours. They swam her in the wrong age group and in too many events. We knew because her mom came over and told us about it and asked us to complain. If they don't get that it really isn't all about winning, they can cheat away for all I care.....

1 part vodka
1 part tequila
1 part rum
1 part gin
1 part triple sec
1 1/2 parts sweet and sour mix
1 splash Coca-Cola®

Mix ingredients together over ice in a glass. Pour into a shaker and give one brisk shake. Pour back into the glass and make sure there is a touch of fizz at the top. Garnish with lemon.
Ibram:

Notice that the first five ingredients of your cocktail are all alcoholic. It's basically 5 shots of booze, with some sweetness and color mixed in to resemble tea. You were ambushed.

Ibby • Jan 9, 2008 8:01 pm
No, I know what's in it. It was an ill-advised choice, not a case of ignorance.
Aliantha • Jan 9, 2008 8:11 pm
I've been knocked on my arse by a long island iced tea before and I'd consider myself a pretty seasoned drinker.

I think it might have had a bit to do with what I was drinking previously of course, but still...I was a write off, which doesn't happen too often.

They do taste good though. When I make them, I usually fill the cocktail shaker with ice and put the spirits in, shake it then pour that into a glass full of ice and top it up with coke. That way you don't lose any fizz and you don't get froth either. Serve with a long straw and a stirer and away you go. :)
binky • Jan 10, 2008 12:09 am
Not very fuckin much lately-thus the indifference

I'm indifferent to the plight of Gypsies (I refuse to call them Romas) and immigrant Iraqis. I'm not saying, "They're ALL bad" but I haven't met a decent, upstanding, honest one, in my country yet and as far as I'm concerned they can go back to where they came from so that we can sweep the streets clean from their insistent littering, scrub the walls of our schools clean from their grafitti, repair the public park playgrounds from their vandalism (for our children's sake) and get a good sleep without them shouting the whole bloody night long.
DanaC • Jan 10, 2008 8:26 am

Perhaps I shoud have said, "I'm indifferent to the proper definition of indifferent"? :)

But see. Now you've done it! Now I have to go to google and look up the definition of the two! Kill joy! :)
Aretha's doctor • Jan 10, 2008 8:38 am
1). Antipathy is dislike for something or somebody ... Yes, it's more of a conviction of disfavour ....

2). Indifference may refer to the lack of emotion ... Hmmm with the stress on the word lack ...of emotion
