The Greek Fires

Someone I know is leaving later this week for a vacation in Greece. Her travel agent has assured her that she won't be anywhere near the part of Athens that's burning.

I'm fairly sure that the travel agent is just trying to avoid having to rebook everything.

Interestingly, they have elections in just under a month.

Spain and Portugal went through this a month or two ago. Canary Islands too.

The Gods are angered. Not sure over what ... seems a little late in the game for Zeus to be smiting Greece over the Greek Orthodox Church. Anything else happen more recently?

I just got back from Sicily and they have been having problems with arson fires too. Finally instituted a moratorium on real estate development on burned forest for 10 years.

Now all the arson they need to worry about comes from people who want to be hired to replant the trees.
