Some Baby Bibs Said to Contain Levels of Lead

August 15, 2007, Wednesday
By ERIC LIPTON (NYT); Business/Financial Desk
Late Edition - Final, Section C, Page 1, Column , 1173 words
DISPLAYING ABSTRACT - *Laboratory tests show certain vinyl baby bibs sold at Toys 'R' US stores appear to be contaminated with lead, making inexpensive bibs another example of made-in-China product that may be health hazard to children; vinyl bibs are sold for less than $5 each under store brand labels, including Especially for Baby and Koala Baby; tests financed by Center for Environmental Health show lead as high as three times level allowed in paint in several styles of bibs purchased from Toys 'R' Us and Babies 'R' Us stores in California; separate test by laboratory hired by New York Times of same Toys 'R' Us bibs, purchased in Maryland, finds similar level of contamination; Toys 'R' Us says tests done by independent lab show bibs to be in compliance with safety standards for lead levels; Consumer Product Safety Commission says it would prefer that there be no elevated levels of lead in bibs

I also read recently that they are worried that Bejing's air may harm Olympic athletes, so some may not compete, LOL... yeah, committee, great idea having it there.

I'm not sure what's more frightening, the article or the fact that it's hosted on Lotus Notes.

There is an article in the NY Times that states they are talking about not having some of the events because of the air quality.
I was not making it up.
I met a Olympic cyclist in LA that trained there and became very ill because of it.
