Priorities

Drax • Aug 12, 2007 5:54 pm
Are you likely to change them based on your situation?
yesman065 • Aug 12, 2007 6:13 pm
yes, some of them - of course there are things one may not be willing to compromise on.
Drax • Aug 12, 2007 6:17 pm
I know. Hence the "depends on the situation" option. :)
lumberjim • Aug 12, 2007 6:50 pm
no. NO. NO. NO

once you set a priority, it can never be changed. EVER..... you hear me? Never ever change it. EVER. EVERRRRRRRrrrr

I think your question is too vague, sorry, because there are BIG priorities, and little priorities.

Call them goals, or life views, but the big ones tend to stay constant once we get into adulthood. Can they change? Sure. Should they change, if circumstances warrant? Absolutely, in my view. I'm not honestly sure what "situations" you are considering, since there's not much to go on here, but handling change well is a valuable life skill, and we should be able to change, if need be.

Obviously the "little" priorities are changed more often. One's priorities on a lazy Saturday will be different from a hectic Monday at work.

no cloud. no.

never change them

ever

never ever
lumberjim • Aug 12, 2007 9:08 pm
your 1st priority should be to beat 567.2
xoxoxoBruce • Aug 12, 2007 9:39 pm
So if your priority was to pick up a latte for Jinx on the way home, and you walked in on an armed robbery, you wouldn't change your priority to getting your ass out of there alive?
Clodfobble • Aug 12, 2007 9:42 pm
Whoa dude, have you ever seen jinx without her latte? I've heard she kills for those things!!
lumberjim • Aug 12, 2007 9:45 pm
dum dum dum dummmmmmmmm
xoxoxoBruce • Aug 12, 2007 10:03 pm
Don't change the subject, you'd change your priority, wouldn't you? You'd let Jinx suffer latte withdrawal to save your ass, you selfish bastard.
Aliantha • Aug 12, 2007 10:28 pm
Priorities change all the time.

I change my priorities at work all the time. Sometimes things come up and they have to take precedence over things that previously were my top priority.

The same thing happens at home. I might know exactly what I want to achieve on a given day, but sometimes, things don't go according to plan. My priorities change.

531.1, 519.6, 578.7 and it only took me like 45 mins of beating on the poor penguin.

Really. Sometimes, a friend can turn out to be just a con artist.

You're still testing me, aren't you? You wish to anger me. Sorry, but it won't work. :p

You just validated my question. I'm not trying to to exact here.

Thanks UT. I saw that message in my email notification, and it definitely doesn't belong here.

Or, if not quite a con artist, maybe a friend could just turn out to be bad for you.

I agree with Cloud, there are varying levels of priorities. Regardless, all of them can change, because circumstances are always changing.

To paraphrase George Carlin, when you're going to vomit, you don't care about your shoes.
HungLikeJesus • Aug 13, 2007 3:17 pm
For me, it definitely depends on the situation. If I'm hungry, then food is my top priority, even if the building is on fire. If I've been drinking lots of beer and water, relief might be my top priority.

Other than that I don't think I have priorities.
