I'd like to nominate.....

DucksNuts • Aug 5, 2007 10:15 pm
This isnt a popularity thread, no no no no, not at all.

Nominate a dwellar for something at which they excel.

I'd like to nominate...

*Sheldon for his one liners and double entendres.

*Zippy for his creative spelling

*Bruce for making sleazebagness sexy

Oh, the prize will be decided and delivered by me.

:)

But I will gladly accept possible prizes with your nominations.
DanaC • Aug 5, 2007 10:24 pm
I'd like to nominate...

*Uisge Beatha, for being Charm personified.

*Monster, for her creative use of cellar pics

*Sundae Girl for her home movies
Griff • Aug 6, 2007 7:50 am
nominations:

Elspode- Best Freaking Writer
ZippyT- Broadest Sense of Humor
Sundae- Most Honest/ Nicest Voice
The Rest of the Cellar- For Rolling How You Roll
TheMercenary • Aug 6, 2007 8:01 am
I would like to nominate Labrat for her fine ass.
Uisge Beatha • Aug 6, 2007 8:46 am
Dana, that is one of the nicest things anyone has ever said about me. Thank you very much. However much I feel the honor to be unjustified, I am going to revel in it. You have made my day, no, my week!
Flint • Aug 6, 2007 11:14 am
@Uisge Beatha: You're a great addition to this community. You're my new favorite.

I would like to nominate Happy Monkey for being brutally logical when laying out a point.
Shawnee123 • Aug 6, 2007 11:36 am
Flint: for being fearless, and funny
SG: for being kind
xoxoxoBruce: for not taking crap off anyone
UT: for keeping it all together

To everyone: for making me laugh
Cicero • Aug 6, 2007 1:33 pm
I'm also nominating Happy Monkey for his use of logic- impenetrable and consistent. Yes, I have a crush on his brains.

I would also like to nominate some other people that don't come around anymore- but that would be futile.

Oh and L.J. for his consistency as well.

Shawnee
for being the social butterfly- trying to brighten things up in dark dark threads.

xoxoxo- is just cool.

UT- for being the cellar god- if their were one.

Last but not least- I nominate those that I have pissed off so far for taking my ridiculousness gracefully. (their pateince) You know who you are....

I'm *relatively* new so I'm sure my votes are only 1/3 of what they could be- but in any case- that's what they are.
Uisge Beatha • Aug 6, 2007 1:45 pm
I don't quite know where to start, as there are many who deserve praise for their contributions to The cellar. Therefore, I will begin, as the saying goes, at the begining - DanaC. This is the beginning for me since Dana was the first to welcome me here. As silly as it might sound to some, I always remember this and feel lucky to have been greeted by such a special lady. I wish to acknowledge Dana's, hmm what's the right way to put it? Well I suppose I want to nominate Dana for her thoughfulness, in every sense of the word. She provides thought-provoking insights, sound advice, and compassionate responses. I would particularly commend her recent help to our own SG. :thumb:

By the way, Flint, thanks for your kind words. Your check will be in the mail, as soon as I find out exactly where to send it. ;)
Shawnee123 • Aug 6, 2007 3:11 pm
Thanks Cicero! I'd like to nominate you for being a really cool person.

Clodfobble: for always saying things concisely and intelligently, and without pissing anyone off.

Wolf: also for knowing how to say things succinctly, and for sharing her wealth of knowledge about mental health (I know she sure has helped me.)

yesman: for being a totally awesome Valley Girl!;)

more later, I'm sure
Uisge Beatha • Aug 6, 2007 3:15 pm
There are several nominees on my list who have already been praised, so I'll not be redundant and ramble on about them. In fact, it would likely be best for me to keep it short and sweet as everyone else has done.
Cyclefrance for sharing some fascinating travels.

DucksNuts for, oh, wait a minute. I wouldn't want to look like a butt smoocher or something. :D Ah, I'll risk it. Ducks for being so much fun, for being so......Ducksy.
jester • Aug 6, 2007 5:18 pm
Some of mine have multiple people - since your the judge you can decide. But this is what I think about most of the ones here.

Dana/SG/Aliantha/Cloud – shows sincerity & compassion

Shawnee – has a passionate personality

DucksNuts – liberating

Monster – talented

Cicero/Smurfalicious/Case/Clodfobble – gifted

Wolf – clever

Jinx – patient (to live with LJ)

Undertoad – icon

Bruce/Merc/Rkz– blunt

HLJ – hung

LJ – thinks about his cock

V/Woody/Griff – inventive

Flint – uses really long words

Spexxvet/Fresh/TW - *hit starters

Uisge Beatha/Elspode – sweethearts

Deuce/RichLevy/Sycamore/Zippty – sharp

Glatt/Weird H/Happy M – funny

I’ve got others, will post shortly.
yesman065 • Aug 6, 2007 7:54 pm
I would nominate many but fear of leaving someone out precludes me from making a long list. Therefore I shall post, but one...

rk - the bravest - bar none
freshnesschronic • Aug 6, 2007 8:27 pm
I'd like to nominate:

LJ for being a dick to me and keeping me here

Jinx for complimenting LJ

Bruce for taking no sides and not holding back on me or anyone else.

yesman and Shawnee for fiercely defending their animal rights feelings against me.

everyone who unloaded on me for my "gay" comment a while back, it was inappropriate and I thank you all.

ducky for exposing the crime in America and thus make me more proud than ever to live here.

I appreciate the haters, it keeps me in my place, and fueling me to discuss.
lumberjim • Aug 6, 2007 9:26 pm
i'd like to nominate myself for a big kick in the ass. I need one, apparently.
elSicomoro • Aug 6, 2007 9:29 pm
Jim, if you could give me an approximate timeline of your next few days, I could possibly help you out. :)
lumberjim • Aug 6, 2007 9:31 pm
get in line....it's been what? 5 minutes since i posted, and i have 13 pm's offering already. ;)

Thank you so much, you may not buy it, but all of you are a big part of that.
Fresh, I hope you don't think of me as one of those haters.

I nominate all of you as the best site on the damn web and UT for being our fearless leader and one awesome selfless-bastard!
DucksNuts • Aug 6, 2007 9:53 pm
Yabbut...if you are going for quality over quantity.

I have some experience placing my delicate little size 8 in arses :)
theotherguy • Aug 6, 2007 11:10 pm
I would like to nominate myself for the post of King of the World. I know that is not what this thread is about. But I guess this is as good a place as any to announce my candidacy.
Clodfobble • Aug 6, 2007 11:12 pm
Shawnee123 wrote:

Aw, thanks.

But I'm pretty sure I've pissed people off. I just can't be bothered to remember who they are. ;)
Weird Harold • Aug 6, 2007 11:13 pm
Cloud for coming up with good ideas for threads.

Labrat for a rally good user name. Where is she anyway? She was posting while on vacation, but it's been a week. Hope she didn't go from Wisconsin to Minnesota.

Yeah, like when you refused to mortgage your house to send me ice cream. Yeeesh.

Not really, you have great ideas that might not parallel mine and that's cool, but I wouldn't use it against you if you were a hater. A hater is someone who goes out of their way to degrade myself and what I represent (like Flint and this thread). Haters have their place, that's their job, to hate. And being able to fight through that hate really buffs you up, in my opinion. Here's a controversial example: kids who get beat growing up really have a nose for discipline later in life. (yes yes yes controversial I know)
Flint • Aug 7, 2007 1:36 am
ha ha ha
freshnesschronic • Aug 7, 2007 1:40 am
Bring it on, Flinty. Best of Both Worlds, right here in our own Cellar!

That is not me at all.
I am very blunt because I think the message gets lost in all the flowery "gee I hope they don't get their feelings hurt" bull-shit, but I don't try to hurt people.
But, I also would not discuss anything with you at all, ever, if I thought you were not worth it in any way.
You will notice that there are those that I just don't comment on, with rare exceptions. You are not in that company.
I like you and the way you communicate, even if it is very different than my method.
I see you as very idealistic and know that there is nothing wrong or harmful in your opinion as long as you are willing to listen to others before taking radical action.
DanaC • Aug 7, 2007 8:58 am
Uisge *wipes a tear* I am moved :P Seriously, you are kind even if your nose is Strangely Brown *grins*

*I'd like to second the nomination of rk, for sheer fucking courage. But I'd like to add two more names to the bravery award: Sundae Girl and Deuce. Accepting help, even if it's just advice or well wishes on a message board, takes courage. SG has upped sticks and moved to a whole new town, got a handle on the alcohol and sought help for the rest. Brava. Deuce meanwhile, has I suspect impressed most of us with his courage in the past couple of weeks.

*And I'd like to nominate Undertoad.....cause he's the Toad. Yeah. Nuff said.

*I'd also like to second the Kick-up-the-Arse award for Lj, well deserved. *grins at Lj*.
Shawnee123 • Aug 7, 2007 9:01 am
And I'd like to nominate DanaC for pointing out things, for providing angles, I may not have otherwise seen. You're a good egg, DanaC.
TheMercenary • Aug 7, 2007 9:53 am
I would like to nominate everyone... for making the cellar what it is. Everyone kicked to the basement from other places around the globey.
Cloud • Aug 7, 2007 10:05 am
my persistence has paid off! Thank you, Weird Harold!
freshnesschronic • Aug 7, 2007 11:16 am

Clodfobble is also good at translating what others have said when there is obviously some confusion getting in the way. One was even Hall of Fame worthy.
Shawnee123 • Aug 7, 2007 11:42 am
Ah yes, one of THE funniest things I've read on the Cellar!
Cicero • Aug 7, 2007 12:26 pm
Hey.....thanks to the few votes! That's niiiice.:thumb:

Dana, and I'm getting tired of this - you are right again.
Hime • Aug 8, 2007 4:18 pm
I'll nominate Cloud for being a genuine free spirit, wolf for consistently compelling writing, and Ibram for always being true to himself.
Cloud • Aug 8, 2007 4:23 pm
(dances around in the moonlight a la free spirit.)

(okay, okay, in the flourescent light, but you can't see me anyway)

(sticks out tongue)

:D
NoBoxes • Aug 9, 2007 5:42 am
There are people IRL with whom I exchange ideas on the vast majority of topics found in the Cellar's forums; so, I usually come here just for the pleasant distraction of Nothingland. There is; however, someone who has created a Somethingland here for me by way of the Technology section and I'd like to extend my appreciation for his well written contributions: I nominate mbpark.
barefoot serpent • Aug 9, 2007 2:03 pm
I nominate Kitsune for something...

lesse... mos def? umm.. I mean: most deft!

prolly the latter
Spexxvet • Aug 14, 2007 3:14 pm
Ok, as long it's not the former. That would offend me.

I nominate UG, for his delusional claims to popular opinion...counteracted by his deep appreciation of good food.
