"May you live as long as you want, and never want as long as you live."

Does anyone else know any nice toasts?

I suppose I should start with "Slainte Mhath!" ("Good Health!")

I'm actually rather partial to one my father used: "Din skol, min skol, alla backa flicka skol"

I'm told that this is Swedish for, "Here's to you, here's to me, here's to all the pretty girls"

A toast:
"Lets have champagne for our real friends and real pain for our sham friends!"

Here's one some drunken college girls used to say (not me, I was a good girl) :eyebrow:

Here's to the men who we love who don't love us
Here's to the men who love us who we don't love
Here's to the men who we love who love us
Here's to the men who we don't love, who don't love us
We f*** them, they f*** us.

This was part of a particularly infuriating puzzle in the PC game "Return to Zork." How sad is it that I thought you were quoting the game up until the fifth line?

I had a really good time, last Burn's Night. We had the lot.....poetry reading, haggis and pipes.......whiskey....lotta whiskey...oh, and a storyteller too! He was really good.

If you're serving haggis, there better be a LOT of whiskey.
DanaC • Aug 1, 2007 9:16 pm
Honestly bruce? There was a fuck of a lot of whiskey involved.
Rhianne • Aug 2, 2007 5:09 pm
*Pedant alert* !

At a Burns' Supper it should be whisky rather than whiskey.

Sorry, I promise you I'm not always annoying.

I did not know that. Thanks for pointing that out. I'm rather glad I've never had occasion to mention this in email communications with my friend Shaggy in Aberdeenshire...I have a feeling he'd consider that a lynching offence.
xoxoxoBruce • Aug 2, 2007 6:17 pm
I knew that but I don't put a u in color either.

Here's to you and here's to me, may we never disagree.
But if we do, to hell with you, here's to me.
