I live in the 9th best place to live, according to
Money Magazine anyway....
Wooo - Hooooo! I can hear my property value rising!
Heck, I'm not that far from #25, but I wouldn't say it's that great. Still, I never expected anything on the list to be at all nearby.
Wow, I grew up very close to number 30.
Hmmm... don't see Brisbane on that list. They must have made a mistake.
It's Money magazine. Obviously Brisbane didn't offer enough money.
Gee, my town isn't listed. Big surprise! ;)
Business Week has a similar list of affordable suburbs broken down by region:
Midwest
South
West
Northeast
with some overlaps.
Look at the average property taxes for the top 100 and take a stab on which state has just about the highest.....I will give you a hint, it starts with Ne............and ends with ersy.
Ahhh yes. Good ol' Neersy.
Man, one of our offices is only 13 miles from Nether Providence in Malvern. I should look at moving there.
still another list -- Looks like Hanover, NH makes the trifecta
WASHINGTON (AP) — What are the best places to live, play and seek adventure?

Labratville makes the best small town list.
Crap, you beat me to it! I was gonna brag and be all *nya nyah!!!*
whatever they are, they're not where I am
What's with all the inconsistency in the state abbreviations?
I don't want to move to any of those places.
And I'd be very wary of living anywhere with "nether" in the name.
We moved from one of the top ones in 1998:

A great place to live and raise kids. We would have stayed on if the next duty station had not called. School systems were awsome.
And after you moved there it never made the list again?.... even after you left?
Just kidding.
Well at least Phoenix made #3 in the top ten big cities.
Of course they haven't seen the endless construction and our ridiculous multi-billion dollar boondoggle of the traffic inhibiting (s)light rail.
I don't want to move to any of those places.

Think "nether lips", baby. :yum:
Kind of rules that Wisconsin holds the number one spot. Everyone from Wisconsin loves the state, but when I brought a buddy from California there all he could talk about was how the west coast had the same things minus the accent and better.....so I punched him on his snout
US News & World Reports best places to retire
Bozeman, Montana
Concord, New Hampshire
Fayetteville, Arkansas
Hillsboro, Oregon
Lawrence, Kansas
Peachtree City, Georgia
Prescott, Arizona
San Francisco, California
Smyrna, Tennessee
Venice, Florida
dammit, now I'm stuck here...
Something bothers me every time I see this thread title.
Do I really want something called Money Magazine telling me where to live? I mean,
I can't help thinking that this list might be a little biased...maybe it should have been called "Best Cities To Earn Money" or something?

Smyrna, TN? Are they kidding me? That is just down the road and it doesn't have anything. It really is just a suburb of Nashville.
