I know it's not just an American thing, but I love leftovers. Sometimes foods left overnight just taste different when reheated.
For lunch I'm having Jambalaya rice from Friday, and turkey sausage and samosas from last night. The sausages and samosas were made on the grill and kept sealed overnight, so I'm expecting the smoky flavor to seep in.
A lot of cultures like twice cooked foods. Refried beans and twice baked potatoes come to mind.
And for some reason pizza tastes better when left in the refrigerator overnight and reheated in the oven until the sauce becomes a paste and the edges of each slice start turning black. :yum:
