Hours of entertanment for $2.00

I found these in the gift shop of the aquarium, at the mall of America. I am so excited, I'm pumped. Ha Ha.

I love these little water rockets. I think summer was invented for them. I could just never find them. I was shocked at the price $2.00, when I saw them on the shelf, I expected to be way overcharged for one. I am happy, happy, happy.

Well, instead of hours, it lasted 5 minutes. I remember them not lasting forever, but this plastic is brittle, doesn't last at all. Some would cry when their new toy breaks, but others only see any opportunity to add more power.

Looks like the thing I pump the water out of my kayak with - which is much cheaper and works better than the bilge pumps they sell as kayak accessories btw...

Bigger is not always better. One of these days that will sink in to my thick head. When my sons were younger we did cub scouts. It seamed like a full time job trying to come up with projects for them to do. In one cub scout book I found instructions to make a kite. I thought, cool, I'll double all the dimensions, and make them real big. Not a good idea, the string cut up their hands pretty good, and they thought they could still fly them if they wore their bicycle helmets, when they came down, they came down hard.

Here is a picture of the play set I built. My wife calls it the slide of death.

My friend's kid made one of those, never bothered to add the nose cone and fins, blasted off more than adequately with just the naked bottle.

His gantry wasn't anywhere near as elaborate either. I think he used a couple of spare cinderblocks.

Why not attach 20 rockets to a backpack harness, load them to 100 PSI, and use it to rocket down the slide?:eek:

They already rocket down the slide. I don't know why, it's the same angle as the green slides, just much taller. On a really hot day we hook the hose to it, and put a tarp at the bottom. It's fun to watch the kids go half way across the neighbor's yard.
