I would have to add some sparkle and I am just too lazy at the moment plus I am busy looking at the western boots at Zappos.

( I will post a picture tomorrow before work and HAVE to wear shoes)

Well, nothing fancy here, but that's me; I've worn boots most of my life. These Vasque hikers are getting a little tired (about 2.5 years of daily use) but are still quite comfy. At least I don't have to worry so much about sock color. :p Yeah, nothing pretty, but RFN.
fargon • Jul 23, 2007 10:08 am
I give up I cannot reduce the file size, so I will tell you what I am wearing. The only shoes that I wear are old very beat up leather flip flops. I have had these for over 2 years. I took the picture it shows my dirty office floor. and my nasty old feet.

It's pretty laid back here - most of the time I wear tennis shoes.

Today, however I'm wearing a skirt - so it's regular flip-flops.

Windows, right?

Open your file in Paint. From the menu choose Tools -- Stretch/Skew and in the percent boxes try a number like.... 25 in each box. Click Ok. Then File -- Save As and choose (this is important) for file type JPEG. Name the file something and somewhere you can remember. Then go to the cellar and Go Advanced, type your post, Manage Attachments, Browse to your location/file and then click Ok and Upload. You should be good to go from there.

skysidhe • Apr 11, 2008 11:51 pm
SG those are beautiful shoes. I couldn't wear a platform if someone put a gun to my head and demanded it. I would fall and break my neck anyway.

And jinx make sneakers look beautiful. Like cinderella shoes even. I don't wear athletics well either.

Oh me? I got wholy gold toes. I did manage to buy some green toe nail polish today. Green because I am a low class broad.
DucksNuts • Apr 12, 2008 6:50 am
I love those SG!!

Very clean looking sneakers, Jinx....mine dont look that nice for very long.

I lurrrrve the platform, all my heels have a plattie of some description.

One of the guys at work only figured out the other week that he was actually taller than me.

I had my Fitflops on
Sundae • Apr 12, 2008 11:35 am
A while back I had occasion to hug HM while I was barefoot. He was perturbed to find I am only just taller than him. He forgets that even a slap-dash part-time girl like myself is likely to have some heel.

Platforms are my saving grace actually. Although I can walk in stilettos they take any pleasure out of outdoor movement for me - terrified as I am of catching the heel in or on something. A good solid base and a wide heel mean I can stride almost normally. And as I top out at approx 6 foot I tend to scatter the traffic.
Urbane Guerrilla • Apr 13, 2008 12:56 am
This reminds me to go look up the very durable Alp Athletic Sandal, which I don't think they're making any more. My pair need resoling after more than twenty years of on average two-season use.

Teva makes them this way now. They still own the name.

Wait, style? Style wasn't on your list of priorities...
Anyway, back when I was in college, I had some problems with plantar warts. My doctor suggested more/better arch support. I went to a local shoe store and asked for some advice. They sold me a pair of Avias. I thought they were great, and I've bought Avias ever since when I could. (Sometimes they're hard to find.) I've occasionally tried other sneakers but they haven't done as well for me. My most recent pair was just purchased on Saturday night, to replace a 3+ year old pair that will now be retired exclusively for lawn-mowing duty.

I love my keens. I have three pair of differing kinds. The sandals really are the best becuase after years of rugby my toes are in a bad way; very sensitive from being stepped all over by steel cleats and the toes are heavily reinforced by solid immobile rubber. These are the best ones:

I live in flip-flops during warm weather, though lately I'm starting to re-think that because of some arch pain. So, humm...other choices?

I like the boys' sandals Monster posted - had a couple pairs for 3-4 years that finally died this summer. One of them came apart during my whitewater rafting trip, boy that was fun (not). I need to get some more.

Actually the swelling is WAY down, and am back in shoes again now - my old Nike split toe shoes. Bought them about 7 years ago, so they've held up damn well. Had to take the inner soles out when my toxic feet destroyed them, but realised I couldn't replace them thanks to the design of the shoe. Still - at least I cna stick them in the washing machine every now and then!

I found a local discount shoe store over the summer and picked up a couple pair of shoes. This is what I wear around at home and on weekends.

Pretty comfortable. The only complaint I have is that they track lots of dirt into the house even if you wipe your feet a lot on the door mat. So I have to be diligent about taking them off as soon as I walk in the door.
